Dead Money

Dead money is money in a pot that was put there by someone who has subsequently dropped out of the hand. Dead Money is also used to refer to a player or players at a table that are so much worse than their peers that their money is effectively dead.

Time Bank

Normally a time limit is placed on decisions made during a poker hand. Some poker locations provide a time bank, where players may draw on extra time to make a decision.

Unimproved

An unimproved hand is a hand that does not have its strength increased by the board.

PLO

PLO = Pot Limit Omaha, a form of Omaha where the maximum allowed bet or raise size is the size of the pot at that point.

Limp

A limp is a call of the big blind. Open limping is when you are first to enter the pot but simply call. Limping behind is when you limp after others have limped before you.

Tilt

Tilt refers to a situation where ANY factor results in a player playing anything less than their A-game. Typical causes include badbeats or coolers, tiredness, interruptions, or drunkenness.

Chat Box

In online poker, it is often possible to "chat" to other players at the table using a chat box.

Shove

to shove is to go all-in. Refers to the motion of "shoving" all of your chips into the middle of the table in a live poker setting.

Overbet

An overbet is a bet that is greater than the current pot size.

B&M

B&M = Bricks and Mortar. This refers to a live play casino, bricks and mortar emphasise that it has a physical presence. This term is usually used to distinguish live play from online play

An overcard is a card that is higher than the highest card on the board.

Regular (Reg)

Equity
