First Look at bet365…
Bet365 is a global brand based in the United Kingdom and was one of the first online casino websites to open. Their name is well known so it’s no surprise I decided to try them out and see what their online gaming experience had to offer.
The site is organized well enough, making it clear and easy to find what I was looking for. It looks like their flagship offering is sports betting, which makes sense considering their brand “bet”365. However, I could see I would be able to play pretty much any casino game in existence, or online poker against many other people around the world. I’m not that interested in bingo (probably not their target audience!) but looks like they offer that as well. Pretty much any game you expect to find will be offered at bet365.
Playing Poker at bet365
The first thing I wanted to do was play some online poker, so I downloaded the bet365 poker client, and read a few poker strategy articles to touch up on my poker skills. Admittedly, it’d been a while since I was dealt in, so never hurts to get a refresher or two!
After creating my account, I decided to hold off on real money and try the free games before making a deposit. I felt it would be a good idea to get used to the software and the feel of everything before diving in head first. I sat down at freeplay table, and as expected, the play was reckless. But I was mainly doing this to get a hand on the software, so I wasn’t too worried.
Honestly, the free games didn’t really do much for me, which was expected. But it was a nice refresher in clicking the bet/raise buttons, and the overall pace of the game. After about 10 minutes I was ready to make a small deposit, and hopefully, win some cash.
There is a bet365 bonus offered to all new players, which was pretty sweet. It was pretty straight forward – Open an account with bet365 today and claim your 100% Deposit Bonus. T&C apply. (Remember to Gamble Responsibly, 18+.) For all of the promotional details and to see what you would be offered, make sure to read the terms yourself carefully from the bet365 website.
I was feeling good from my play money session and decided to try both a SNG and cash table at the same time. That’s the great thing about online poker, you aren’t forced to sit at one table doing one thing. Back in the day the most tables I played at once was 24, so it was pretty easy to settle back into multi-tabling. Even if you’re completely new you shouldn’t find it hard to add more than one table after playing a few times.
I loaded up a €5 SNG and sat with €10 at a €.05 – €.10 no limit hold’em table. It felt exciting being dealt in for the first time, and the very first hand I was dealt in on the big blind at my cash table was KK! Imagine that, after not playing poker for a few years, and my first hand is pocket kings – truthfully! Unfortunately, I didn’t win a monster pot, but took down a medium sized pot after 2 players folded on the turn. I decided to play cash for as long as my SNG tournament lasted. Things were looking good at first, but ended up losing AQ v 99 with 6 players left. When it was all said and done, I walked away from the cash table with €18 and took a €5 loss in the SNG. Not bad.
A few comments on playing poker at bet365 – The software was slick and I liked the lobby and table layouts. Nothing really stands out as being amazing, but nothing felt lacking, so all in all it was a positive experience. You can try playing poker at bet365 yourself and let us know in the comments what you think.
Trying my Luck at Blackjack and Video Poker…
After a little success playing poker, I had the urge to up the gamble a bit more. I navigated over to bet365 Casino and Games. Not quite sure what the difference is, but looks like Bet365 Games has more video slots and things of that nature. Being that I’m a poker player first, I tend to stay away from slots unless I’m feeling really lucky. So my gambling strings are pulling me towards blackjack and video poker.
The first thing I like, I don’t have to download and install a client like poker. I can just play the games right on their website, which is convenient. I’m already logged in with the account I made so only need to transfer some funds from my poker wallet to casino, which is a breeze. Just like poker, there are bet365 bonus codes and promotions for casino, so check up on them on the bet365 website to stay informed on current offers. (Terms & Conditions Apply. Gamble Responsibly, 18+ only.)
I notice they have 9/6 Jacks or Better, which is one of the best returns you can hope for, so I sit down and load that up. But before I actually put some cash in, I touch up a bit using this video poker trainer app. It works just like any video poker game except it tells you when you make a right or wrong move, so you know when you make a mistake. Thus improving your overall ability. It’s a great tool! You can also visit VideoPokerStrategy.org for video poker basic strategy charts.
Not wanting to play too high stakes, I chose €0.10, and of course bet the max each hand. I played about 100 hands, but unfortunately nothing too exciting happened. I didn’t draw very well, hit a couple of flushes and trips, but nothing bigger, and ran through my €25 limit pretty quickly. But, I enjoy video poker and don’t expect to win every time, so wasn’t disappointed. The software felt pretty solid and it was very quick to play on – I wasn’t wasting any time between hands. Overall, I’m impressed.
Next, I sat down at multi-hand blackjack and decide to take a shot playing 3 hands at a time, €5 a piece. Just like video poker, there is a blackjack strategy trainer I use to refresh my skills. I highly suggest trying it out if you want to get better at blackjack. Putting the speed up as high as it goes, I could have played hundreds of hands per hour when running good. I ended up doing fairly well, hitting most of my doubles and blackjack a few times. After about 15 minutes I was up around €75 and decided to walk away.
My experience in the bet365 casino was even more enjoyable than poker. Not just because I won more, but it the simplicity and ease of everything added to the experience. Check out the games offered at bet365 if you’re looking to gamble online, for free or real money.
Placing a Few Bets on the UFC
I’m not much into many sports, so betting on them is usually something I do for fun with friends. But I do watch the UFC religiously, and used to bet on every card, so looking through the current odds was exciting and nostalgic in a way.
The bet365 sports betting system is like casino, it’s all online without needing to download anything. I’ve used other online sites before so knew my way around, but it took a bit of trial and error and figure out exactly where I was supposed to go and how to add a bet to my slip. But after a few minutes of clicking around, I figured out I had to create custom coupons to place bets from. A bit weird, but is fine once you get used to it.
I looked at some future bets and decided to put some cash on Cristiane Justino v Holly Holm (Holm at 5/2) and Cub Swanson v Brian Ortega (over 2.5 rounds at 5/11). And just like that, those fights became even more exciting.
I was only using the betting tool for about 10 minutes and it brought back the rush of excitement I used to feel years ago when I was heavily into betting online. Bet365 makes it as easy as possible and there are hundreds of different sports and leagues you can bet on. I was blown away by the variety of options. I’ll likely be back to place some more bets when I have time to do more research.
If you’re looking to bet on any sport known to man, the most convenient way is to bet with bet365. Even if you aren’t sure you want to bet with real money, just checking out all they have to offer will blow you away. There are always new and exciting promotions for sportsbetting at bet365. Make sure to check their website and your account for a new potential bet365 bonus code or new betting offers just for you.
Playing on the Go… Literally
The last thing I wanted to try was playing from my phone. Bet365 has various betting apps you can install on Android, iPhone, etc. Or you can just access their website from your browser. So when my girlfriend wanted me to ride with her to store, I grabbed my phone to literally play “on the go” in the car (she was driving, of course!)
First impression on the mobile website was it fit well and was speedy on data with my Samsung Galaxy S7. I could use the same account I made online earlier, which was helpful. I played a few hands of blackjack, then switched to keno. I know it’s a sucker’s game, but it’s fun every now and then. I was mainly trying this out to see how I liked playing on my phone. Overall, it wasn’t nearly as fun or easy as on my laptop, but you could say that for pretty much any kind of game.
I also liked how fast it was on data. Keep in mind I wasn’t connected to Wifi when in the car and I never lost connection. All in all, if you have a commute on public transit or looking for something to do on your lunch break, it can be a fun routine to make the dull time go by faster. I wouldn’t recommend playing for too high stakes on mobile, especially when not on Wifi – I wouldn’t want to risk losing connection.
I didn’t get a chance to try out mobile poker because you have to install the app from the Google Play store and I only used the website. I see there are also a few apps available for poker, casino, etc., but I haven’t tried them out yet. (If I get around to it I’ll update this review.)
