Tropicana Casino Update
Tropicana Casino is open for real money bets in the regulated New Jersey market.
Overview & General Details
The Tropicana online casino opened in New Jersey in November of 2013. Since opening it has done well such that now it is one of the leading casinos in the NJ market. Using the mobile app, I played there for real money on November 23, 2014 at the NY Giants game (the Giants play at the Meadowlands aka MetLife in NJ).
Real money bets must be placed inside the state of NJ but I did just about everything else from California (registration, deposits, etc).
Software & Interface
Using the software on my pc, my MacBook Air, my android phone and my ipad, I can say that it is pretty seamless going from one device to the next.
The biggest “software” annoyance isn’t really a software issue, it is more of a regulation issue. Whenever I got logged out I had to use a code to get back into the game. In other words, during a 2 hours span I got 9 different texts with codes allowing me to resume play. Part of me says that this isn’t the Tropicana’s fault, it is a regulation issue. Another part of me thinks Tropicana could do a better job in this area because I didn’t have the same problem while using Borgata’s software.
I played blackjack and jacks or better video poker. Tropicana has tons of other games available. There are all kinds of cool games at your fingertips.
ACH is the way to go when it comes to deposits at Tropicana and other online casinos in New Jersey.
Don’t be intimidated by ACH – it’s super easy. All you need to do is find your checkbook and then follow the simple guidelines.
New Jersey was one of the first states in the U.S. to regulate online gambling. As such, the credit card companies did not catch on right away. I tried using my Visa debit and credit cards in November 2014 and they were both declined. 7 Eleven PayNearMe only works if you’re inside the state of NJ. ACH is the way to go. Bonus & Promotions
There are tons of bonuses at Tropicana. Here are some of the emails I received from them in late November 2014:
Eric, jingle all the way up to a 25% Deposit Match
Eric, earn up to $100 Bonus Money in Da Vinci Diamonds this week
Eric, you could win a $100 Amazon gift card
Eric, don’t miss our $5,000 Black Friday Special
But the one that’s probably most beneficial to newcomers is the cool Up to $100 cash back offer. Simply make your first deposit of $10 or more to qualify. At the end of seven days, you’ll get your losses added back to your account, up to a maximum value of $100.
There are no playthrough requirements associated with this loss-back insurance – you can withdraw it right away if you wish. Play whatever games you want during your first week at Tropicana Casino. There are no exclusions or restrictions by game type.
The chat system at Tropicana is really cool. The people I spoke with were quite helpful although it would have been good if they would have told me not to bother with a 7 Eleven PayNearMe deposit attempt outside the state of NJ.
