Definition
A dead blind is a blind that directly enters the pot. This blind does not play as part of that players bet. Dead blinds are usually posted if/when players re-enter a table after missing their small and/or big blinds.
Example
I went to the bathroom, missed my small and big blind, and had to post my big blind as well as a dead small blind.
