Definition
A hanger is when the bottom card of the deck sticks out further than the rest of the cards. This is usually a tell that the dealer is dealing from the bottom of the deck (a form of cheating).
Example
In Rounder, Worm is caught "with a hanger." The cops punished him for dealing from the bottom of the deck.
