Annie Duke, commissioner of the Epic Poker League, and NASCAR will be hosting a charity poker tournament on February 22nd. “High Speed Hold’em on the Halifax” will be held a few miles from Daytona Speedway in a high end community. The tournament will be hosted by the NASCAR foundation which raises money for many charitable causes. The event will be invite only and expects to have a showing of many NASCAR drivers as well as many recognizable TV poker pros.

The event will be for the benefit of Speediatrics, which is the pediatric wing at the Halifax Medical Center. The buy-in will be $500, but this is basically a donation to charity and a chance to meet some of NASCAR’s drivers, poker pros or other celebrities as the NASCAR foundation chairwoman has guaranteed there will be at least one of the aforementioned people at every one of the 22 tables. The winner of the tournament will also receive a $1500 Epic Poker League tournament ticket. Epic Poker League is widely considered one of the best run tournament circuits by top pros for reasons of quality of the tournament structure to things like little to no rake.

Among the celebrities and poker pros guaranteed to be in attendance include Rusty Wallace, Annie Duke, Dale Jarrett, and Brad Daugherty. Everyone is thrilled to raise funds for a great cause and if the tournament gets filled it will raise over $100,000 dollars for Speediatrics and possibly even more with the addition of a charity auction during the tournament. We wish everyone the best of luck while they raise some money for a worthy cause, and hopefully they have some fun while doing it!
