Patrik Antonius continued an amazing November this weekend as he netted almost half a million dollars between Friday and Sunday on the Hold’em and Omaha tables at Full Tilt Poker. Aside from picking up almost $500k, Antonius also showed that he may well be the dominant Finnish poker player, as a large proportion of the money he won came from two other well known Finnish players (LarsLuzak and Ziigmund). The three players played together with no other contenders for a while on Saturday, and Antonius ended the session up nearly $350k.

The first big pot in the match between the three Finnish players was worth over $175k. Antonius was already sitting with almost $325k and raised to $3k preflop. Ziigmund, who had just under $200k in chips called the raise and the flop came Tc As Kd. Antonius fired out a continuation bet of $5k and was again called by Ziigmund. The turn was the 4s and Antonius checked the action to Ziigmund who made a bet of $13.6k. Antonius made the call and the river came the 3h. Antonius again checked the action to Ziigmund who bet out $68k. Antonius made the call and Ziigmund showed a set of tens, Antonius mucked his hand and Ziigmund had the upper hand so far.

Antonius would get a chance to gain some of that money back later in a pot with LarsLuzak. He raised from the button to $5k and was called by LarsLuzak from the big blind. The flop came 5s Ad 3h and LarsLuzak checked it to Antonius who bet out $5k. LarsLuzak then reraised this up to almost $19k, which was called by Antonius. The turn came the 6d and both players checked to the river which was the 2d. LarsLuzak then put a bet of $37k out and after taking some time to think through the hand Antonius made the call with pocket deuces, for three of a kind. LarsLuzak turned over K9 for ace high and Antonius scooped up the $119k pot.

The two would tangle up again just a few hands later as Ziigmund raised from the button to $3.5k, only to be called by LarsLuzak and then re-raised to $14k by Patrik Antonius from the big blind. Both the other players would make the call and the three-way flop came Tc Kd Ts. LarsLuzak checked the action to Antonius who bet out $22k which folded out Ziigmund, however LarsLuzak then pushed all in for a raise of about $100k. Antonius called and showed Td 6d for three tens, while LarsLuzak showed JQ for an open ended straight draw. The turn brought no help for LarsLuzak with the 2h and the river was an 8, giving Antonius the $286k pot.

The action would die down for a little bit after that hand, with a lot of small pots being contested between the three. However Antonius and Ziigmund would tussle again, this time with stacks adding up to over $800k. LarsLuzak would raise from under the gun and Antonius would call behind. Ziigmund then reraised to $17.5k which was folded to Antonius who made the call. The flop came 3s 6c 5d and both players checked. The turn brought an 8 and this time Antonius would lead out for $28k, which Ziigmund would call. The river was a 9 and Antonius would bet $83k and after some thought, Ziigmund would make the call only to be shown the nut straight. Ziigmund mucked his hand and Antonius scooped the $260k pot.

Antonius would fare well on the Omaha tables this weekend, as he picked up several big pots there as well. In one hand, Your_NIPMO would raise to $1200 and Ozzy 87 would reraise to $4k. Antonius and Your_NIPMO called the reraise and the flop came 8d 4d 9c. Your_NIPMO would push all in for just short of $10k, and Ozzy 87 would raise the push to just over $40k. Antonius then pushed all in and Ozzy 87 called for $17k more and it was a 3-way all in pot. Your_NIPMO showed 6d Tc 7d Kc for a flush draw and a wrap, while Antonius would show Qd Qs Td 9h for an over pair and a larger flush draw. Ozzy 87 flipped over As 5c 2d Ah for the highest pair, but no real draw. The turn was the 5 of spades, giving Your_NIPMO a straight, however a diamond fell on the river and Antonius made his flush. He scooped the main pot and the even bigger side pot for a total of almost $138k.

Antonius was in another big three-way all in, this time with Your_NIPMO and Da Munsta. Antonius would raise preflop and be called by Your_NIPMO. Da Munsta then re-raised to $5600, which would be called by both the other players. The flop came 6s 9c Ah and Da Munsta shipped his $13.5k stack in immediately. Antonius called behind and then had Your_NIPMO push it all in as well for another $30k. Antonius called this push as well and showed 6c 8s Ts 7d for bottom pair and a huge wrap. Da Munsta would turn over 6h Kd 7s Ks and Your_NIPMO would show Qc 9d 9h 8d. The turn came the 5c and gave Antonius his straight, and the river was the 2s which locked up the almost $118k pot for Antonius.

Patrik Antonius had another huge weekend to add onto his already great month of November. It seems he is up just over $1.1 million on the Hold’em tables and slightly over a quarter of a million on the Omaha tables since the beginning of the month. Not too shabby if you ask me.
