Another day went by, and another FTOPS event is in the books. Yesterday’s event was the FTOPS XIII Event 13, $300+$22 NLHE Deepstacked ShootOut. It was hosted by TheHendonMob’s Barney Boatman.
Tonight’s event was a triple shoot out, which means it had a very curious format and a limited amount of participants. Tonight’s event held only 9x9x9 = 729 total participants.
Essentially, it was a Sit-N-Go where the winner advanced to the next table, until there were no more tables to reach. They simply kept the accumulated chips won from the previous table to the next table, and blinds were then rebalanced to the average stack of players at the next table to not skip a beat.
The last table, in this case table number 3, would be the one everyone wants to reach, the so-called promised land. The first place finish would award the victor about $45k in cold hard cash.
Many of Full Tlt’s Pro Players showed up for a shot at the $218,000 prize pool, including Lee Watkinson, Leandro “Brasa” Pimentel, Soren Kongsgaard, Micheal Craig, Ram Vaswani and Scott Fischman. Notable placings for the pros was Micheal Craig, who wrote the book on tournament poker, in 9th place for $2,952.45 and Mike McDonald in 12th for $1,858.95.
Congratulations to bgitty for taking down FTOPS XIII Event #13 (wow, that’s a ton of 13’s) and taking home $40,773 and the yellow FTOPS jersey. Also congrats to all who participated, and remember, if you did not place or win, there’s always next time!
