The World Championship of Online Poker is winding down, but the excitement sure is not. WCOOP Event #60 took place on Sunday, a day that is normally reserved for PokerStars’ weekly Sunday Million. Most everything remained the same including the $215 buy-in and the $1.5 million guarantee. However, the aura of the tournament was very different due to the allure of winning a WCOOP bracelet. Additionally, blind level time increments were increased from 15 minutes to 20 minutes. A huge field of 11,733 players registered to vie for a piece of the $2,346,600 prize pool (shattering the guarantee). All players were certainly dreaming of winning the $326,417.46 first prize.

Sunday’s event was one of the most popular of all WCOOP events among Team PokerStars. The roster of Team PokerStars players looking for the WCOOP bracelet included Chris Moneymaker, Randy “nanonoko” Lew, Vanessa Rousso, Daniel Negreanu, Chad Brown, Marcel Luske, George “Jorj95” Lind, and Dennis Phillips. Unfortunately, none of these players made the money. Those from Team PokerStars that did, in fact, cash included Victor Ramdin, 2009 World Series of Poker champion Joe Cada, David Williams, Vanessa Selbst, and Andre “aakkari” Akkari.

With so many players and such long levels, it took 17 hours for the tournament to reach the final table. The final nine were seated as follows:

Seat 1 – RiverBoom – 17,618,595 chips
Seat 2 – ureeek – 10,508,248 chips
Seat 3 – Tyren0 – 21,511,556 chips
Seat 4 – 1euroguy – 3,860,126 chips
Seat 5 – Marwetz – 3,792,514 chips
Seat 6 – TROBLMAKER – 18,001,071 chips
Seat 7 – Blue Knight1 – 31,047,468 chips
Seat 8 – Troubaduren – 6,602,162 chips
Seat 9 – check_lol – 4,388,260 chips

An hour afterward, the tournament was down to the final four. Blue Knight1, TROBLMAKER, ureeek, and Marwetz agreed to a deal that would award $269,669.46, $209,000, $169,000, $165,000 to the players, respectively with $30,000 set aside for the winner of the tournament. Marwetz and TROBLMAKER would be the next to go leaving Blue Knight1 and ureeek to battle heads-up. Blue Knight1 created a 106 million to 11.2 million advantage over ureeek and did not need much help to put the final nail in the coffin. Both players went all-in with Big Knight1 holding kings and ureeek holding Kd7d with very little chance at pulling an upset. Some hope came on the 2hTc7c flop but neither the Qs turn nor the Js river agreed with ureeek. Blue Knight1 received the extra $30,000 reserved for the winner as well as the gold WCOOP bracelet. The rest of the final table placed as follows:

1st – Blue Knight1 – $299,669.46
2nd – ureeek – $169,000.00
3rd – TROBLMAKER – $209,000.00
4th – Marwetz – $165,000.00
5th – Tyren0 – $93,864.00
6th – 1euroguy – $70,398.00
7th – RiverBoom – $46,932.00
8th – check_lol – $23,466.00
9th –Troubaduren – $14,783.58

Congratulations to all players!
