Bodog Poker, one of the biggest names in the gaming industry, has entered into a partnership agreement with the most famous team in America’s growing soccer stable.
Known for their high-powered attack and nationwide appeal, the LA Galaxy has made fans out of even the most ardent of soccer haters. This comes largely by virtue of their cast of stars, which includes names like Landon Donovan and international icon David Beckham.
Now, the two have joined forces in their quest for excellence. While the Galaxy strives for perfection on the field, Bodog has been cleared to advertise their free to play poker services on everything from LED boards to corner sections to commercials on the stadium scoreboard.
“Both the LA Galaxy and Bodog brands are recognized around the globe, making this partnership not only mutually beneficial, but a perfect synergy across the United States and beyond,” says Ed Pownall, the Global PR Director for BodogBrand.com. “The fantasy sports industry has grown exponentially in recent years and is showing no signs of stopping, and soccer, with its many dimensions, offers itself perfectly to fantasy sports games.”
Exciting though it may be, this isn’t Bodog’s first trip to the sports sponsorship well. In 2009, the company signed a three year deal with Fulham of the English Premier League. And they’re not alone in their passion for soccer – sites like Bwin, Bettorlogic and William Hill also provide advertisements to clubs across the futebol circuit.
Never satisfied to simply follow the competition, Bodog has also made inroads to another of the world’s most popular sports. With the ink still drying on their Galaxy deal, the company has also entered into a partnership with the NHL’s Edmonton Oilers. Much like their soccer signing, this one year agreement will allow Bodog to advertise throughout a variety of arena mediums.
“The Edmonton Oilers are ingrained in the fabric of the sport I have followed all my life,” says Bodog Europe’s CEO Patrik Selin. “As a Swede, hockey is near and dear to my heart and we are sure that our first season with the Oilers will be a great one for us and the team. We are in this deal as fans of the game not just as commercial sponsors.”
