There aren’t a lot of details out about the film, yet, but it appears that a new crime movie based on a novel by George V Higgins is about to enter production. The movie is tentatively entitled “Cogan’s Trade” and will feature Brad Pitt, Mark Ruffalo, Sam Rockwell, Javier Bardem and Casey Affleck.

The film will be directed by Andrew Dominik, who recently worked with both Pitt and Affleck on “The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford.”

In the movie, Pitt will play an enforcer named Jackie Cogan, who is studying a recent robbery of a  mafia protected high stakes poker game. The other actor’s roles are unclear at this time, but has been stated that Pitt will also act as the producer of the film.

Poker fans will anxiously await this film and hope that it is better than the plethora of terrible poker movies that have been released to date. The movie seems to have a great cast, so far, and Brad Pitt usually puts out good work so things are looking up for a decent poker movie to come to theaters in the near future.
