The Little One For One Drop attracted an impressive 4,756 players creating a $4,280,400 prizepool with over $600,000 going to the winner. Initially the tournament was supposed to run for 3 days, but due to the high player turnout it was extended to 4 days with the remaining 8 players coming back to play out the final table.

Final table

1 Nghi Tran 4,130,000
2 Justin Zaki 2,300,000
3 Joe Morneau 2,585,000
4 Alex Case 1,760,000
5 Roland Israelashvili 3,375,000
6 Kevin O’Donnell 655,000
7 Brian Yoon 2,650,000
8 Cuong Van Nguyen 1,580,000

Nghi Tran was in the lead with 4,130,000 chips, but with the blinds at 50000/100000 even that was not a very big stack and eliminations started piling up pretty quick.

Alex Case was the first to go as he was crippled in a hand where his A K was outdrawn by Cuong Van Nguyen’s A T and with 2 big blinds left Alex got it in with T 9 against Joe Morneau’s T 8 . An 8 A A flop was not something Alex was happy to see and neither the turn or the river brought him any help. With that Alex Case was the first casualty of the final table, scoring $71,311.

The very next hand Kevin O’Donnell shoved from the hijack with K Q and got called by Nghi Tran with A 3 . The flop was very bad for Kevin as it rolled out A 9 9 and the turn sealed the deal as the A hit the board. The river was now meaningless and Kevin O’Donnell was eliminated in 7th place with $93,269.

Three hands later another big hand took place as Morneau raised to 200,000 after action folded to his button. Israelashvili called from the small blind, as did Brian Yoon in the big blind. The blinds checked the 9 T T flop, and Morneau bet 250,000. Israelashvili folded, but Yoon came out with a check-raise to 650,000. Morneau called. A 4 hit the turn, and Yoon jammed for just under 1.7 million. Morneau called off his last 1.55 million. Unfortunately for Morneau he thinly drawing to a split with 9 8 against Yoon’s A 8 .

A few orbits later Brian Yoon raised to 240,000 on the button and Nghi Tran 3-bet shoved from the big blind for 860,000. Yoon called with 9 7 , trailing Tran’s 7 7 . A J 4 4 flop seemed safe enough for Tran, but the turn was a heartbreaker as the 9 rolled out. With one out left Tran did not have much of a chance and the J on the river sealed the deal, sending Nghi Tran to the rail in 5th place with $163,340.

Soon after Yoon scored another elimination when he and Justin Zaki got it in pre-flop with Zaki holding 9 9 and Yoon holding A J . The J 7 4 flop left Zaki with 2 outs and the turn and river failed to improve his hand. With that Justin Zaki was out in 4th place with a $218,771 score.

At this point Brian Yoon was on a roll and next on his list was Roland Israelashvili. Again players got it in pre-flop with Israelashvili being behind with K Q against Yoon’s A Q . The board ran out 2 8 6 7 6 and Roland Israelashvili was sent packing in 3rd place with an impressive $295,433 score.

Brian Yoon was in control of the heads up match against Cuong Van Nguyen for most of the way and finally both players got it in pre-flop with Van Nguyen holding T 8 and Yoon holding K Q . The A T 6 flop favored Van Nguyen and the 9 on the turn brought him even closer to a double up, but the river was the K , eliminating Cuong Van Nguyen in 2nd place with $408,264.

With that Brian Yoon took down Little One for One Drop receiving $663,727 for his efforts.
