Bwin Poker, part of the Ongame Network, intends to settle what seems like an age old score: what poker forum has the best players? Obviously, things will be settled on felt thanks to the Battle of the Forums.
Representing your forum is sure to pay well because the Finals tournament boasts a prize pool of $60,000. Qualifiers to the Finals are available for just $5.50 and will run on December 5, 2010. You’ll be competing against members of your own forum so it’s time to back up the strategy you spout on the forums. These qualifiers require a password which will be given to the forum administrators. The last five players standing will represent your forum in the bwin Poker Battle of the Forums Final.
The Finals will take place week from the satellite tournaments so mark your calendar for December 12. Five unique tournaments will run simultaneously, so each of the final 5 will be in different tournaments. You will be awarded points based on your finish. Obviously, the team with the most points will win. First place is worth a whopping $21,000 and the runner-up will receive $13,000. A full payout schedule can be found on bwin’s website.
As we mentioned earlier, bwin is one of Ongame’s flagship poker rooms, but things are set to change. Bwin and PartyGaming are slated to merge at the end of 2011’s Q1. PartyGaming’s poker room, Party Poker, was once the largest poker room in the world. Their reign at the top was brought to a screeching halt by the UIGEA regulations. Currently, Party Poker is holding steady as the third most popular room in the world. The merger is sure bolster their numbers but the chances of overtaking ACR Poker are slime to none. This just in, slim has left the building.
