PokerStars VIP Live Event in Vancouver on July 13
PokerStars has announced four VIP Club Live events in 2013, including a stop in Vancouver on July 13. The Live Event is a party open to all PokerStars players. In order to attend, a player must use FPP loyalty points. Tickets to the event are purchased exclusively in the VIP store. The party is being held downtown at the Imperial Vancouver, and doors open at 19:00. The event offers an open bar, food, games, prizes, and more. Jason Duval “Bebe Chien” Wins Event #28 of WSOP
The hits keep on coming for Canada as Quebec-native Jason Duval won the $1,500 No Limit Hold’em, defeating a field of 2,115 for a first place prize of $521,000. Despite starting out Day 3 as a short stack, “Bebe Chien” scratched and crawled his way to victory. The win is Canada’s 7th bracelet in the 2013 WSOP, breaking Canada’s previous record bracelet count in any past year, as well as setting the new record for any non-US country at the WSOP.

Calen McNeil Wins 6th WSOP Bracelet for Canada
British Columbia’s Calen McNeil became Canada’s sixth winner of the 2013 WSOP in Las Vegas, taking home the bracelet in the $1,500 Omaha Hi-Low Eight or Better. After several hours of play heads up, McNeil defeated “CK” Hua to take home the title and over $277,000.

Mark Radoja Wins 2nd Bracelet in WSOP Heads-Up Event
Guelph, Ontario-native Mark Radorja won his 2nd WSOP bracelet, winning Event #16, the $10,000 Heads-Up No Limit Hold’em and taking home $258,960. Radoja defeated Don Nguyen heads up for the title, who earned $159,950 for his second place finish. This was Canada’s 5th bracelet of the 2013 WSOP season. The event drew 162 players.

Levi Berger Wins WSOP Event #11 Six Handed No-Limit Hold’em
Twenty-two-year-old Ottawa, Ontario-native Levi Berger won first place at the World Series of Poker Event #11 $2,500 Six Handed No-Limit Hold’em, earning a cash prize of $473,019. Berger defeated two-time WSOP bracelet winner Scott Clements heads up to claim his title. Levi’s win is Canada’s 4th WSOP bracelet of 2013. 924 players entered the tournament to bring the prize pool up to $2,102,100.

Michael Malm Wins WSOP Event #8 Eight-Game Mix
Coquitlam, British Columbia-native Michael Malm outlasted second place finisher Steven Wolansky to win $225,104 and Canada’s third bracelet at the the 2013 World Series of Poker in Las Vegas. Despite being a 7 to 1 underdog in chips at one point, Michael battled back to win his first bracelet in the $2,500 Eight Game mix event.

Dale Babineau Wins 2013 PEI Poker Challenge
Dale Babineau of Shediac River, NB took home the top prize of $20,000 in the 2013 PEI Poker Challenge at Red Shores Racetrack & Casino in Charlottetown, PEI. The $300 Open Limit Texas-Hold’em Event generated a prize pool of $72,000. The top 24 finishers all earned cash for their efforts.

The 5th annual Atlantic Canada Poker Championship will take place from October 12-14 at Red Shores. The tournament is expected to have a prize pool of $160,000 prize pool. The buy-in is $550 and egistration will open September 1st.

The World Poker Tour Canadian Dates

After the successful $3000+300 WPT Montreal event in November 2012 event, which drew nearly 1,200 players, The World Poker Tour has decided to run two WPT events in Montreal this year.

In the fall, there will be a fully televised PartyPoker sponsored WPT Montreal Main Event running from November 29th until December 5th. The buy-in will be $3,500+$350.

Party Poker Qualifiers: Every Sunday at 3:30pm ET is a $300 buy-in, 3 seat guaranteed satellite tournament. Super satellites and other satellites are also available.
