Stratford, PEI native Benny Chen became the first ever winner of the WSOP Millionaire Maker tournament, defeating Michael Bennington heads up for a first place prize of $1,198,780. Chen outlasted a field of 6343 players on his way to his first bracelet and Canada’s second of the 2013 WSOP.

St-Bruno, Quebec native Charles-Alexandre Sylvestre, a 30-year old real estate broker, beat out a field of 3,164 entrants in the $1,000 Re-Entry Event to win $491,360 and Canada’s first 2013 WSOP bracelet.

Daniel Negreanu Wins Event 39 of PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP)
Popular poker pro Daniel Negreanu recorded his first major online tournament victory, beating out a field of 180 and winning $216,000 in the $5,200 buy-in 6-max PLO tournament.
The World Poker Tour Canadian Dates
After the successful $3000+300 WPT Montreal event in November 2012 event, which drew nearly 1,200 players, The World Poker Tour has decided to run two WPT events in Montreal this year.
In the fall, there will be a fully televised PartyPoker sponsored WPT Montreal Main Event running from November 29th until December 5th. The buy-in will be $3,500+$350.
Party Poker Qualifiers: Every Sunday at 3:30pm ET is a $300 buy-in, 3 seat guaranteed satellite tournament. Super satellites and other satellites are also available.
888Poker: Montreal Super Stack LIVE (offline) $185 Satellite Event May 17-19th at the Playground Poker Club near Montreal. Register in person, or through the 888Poker client for this live 3-day super stack tournament. Winners of this tournament will each receive a seat to the $3500+300 EPT Montreal Main Event.
The maximum number of entrants for this live satellite is 250. Starting stacks of 30,000 with 30 minute blind levels. Re-entry is permitted and late registration lasts for 90 minutes.
