Marc E. McLaughlin to represent Canada in the 2013 WSOP November Nine
6352 players entered, and only 9 remain. After two previous finishes in the Top 100 of the Main Event, Marc E. McLaughlin, an online pro from Quebec, has made it onto the final table of the 2013 WSOP Main Event. Marc will start out in 3rd place when play resumes on November 4th and 5th.
Two other Canadians almost made it as well, unfortunately both were eliminated on Day 7. Halifax native Alex “rumnchess” Livingston placed 13th for over $450,000, and Burnaby’s Jason Mann placed 25th for more than $285,000.

Hard Rock Casino Vancouver will open in Coquitlam, British Columbia
The Hard Rock Casino Vancouver will be a brand new renovation of the old Boulevard Casino, in the city of Coquitlam, British Columbia (Metro Vancouver). The new 80,000 square foot casino will offer typical games such as poker, blackjack, pai gow, roulette, baccarat, craps, and over 950 state-of-the-art interactive slot machines.

Daniel Negreanu finishes runner-up to Eli Elezra in the 2-7 Triple Draw Lowball $2,500
Negreanu narrowly missed out on winning his 6th WSOP bracelet, coming up just short to Eli Elezra in the 2-7 Triple Draw Lowball $2,500. This was the 5th time in Daniel’s career that he finished in the runner up position. His 2nd place finish paid $107,000. It was also Daniel’s 28th top ten finish in his career.
Kristen Bicknell Wins WSOP Ladies Championship & Canada’s 10th Bracelet
Kristen brought home yet another WSOP bracelet for Canada, defeating a field of 953 people for a first place prize of $173,000. An online pro in her own right, Kristen has had PokerStars Super Nova Elite VIP status since 2010 and counting. When she isn’t grinding out a full-time living, she also works as a part-time poker coach. Another Canadian, Calgary-native Cindy Kerslake, also made the final table, finishing 9th for over $12,000.
The World Poker Tour Canadian Dates
After the successful $3000+300 WPT Montreal event in November 2012 event, which drew nearly 1,200 players, The World Poker Tour has decided to run two WPT events in Montreal this year.
In the fall, there will be a fully televised PartyPoker sponsored WPT Montreal Main Event running from November 29th until December 5th. The buy-in will be $3,500+$350.
Party Poker Qualifiers: Every Sunday at 3:30pm ET is a $300 buy-in, 3 seat guaranteed satellite tournament. Super satellites and other satellites are also available.
