PokerStars are building up to dealing their 100 Billionth hand of online poker sometime in mid June (the expected date if Jun the 14th, but don’t hold me to that!).

To celebrate this momentous occasion, PokerStars are going to be giving away some presents to their players, and I for one will be doing my best to take advantage of their largesse.

The “Road to 100 Billion” started a while ago, and has been heading for this milestone in the history of online poker. PokerStars are going to be giving away around over $5,000,000 in this promotion, and I know I want my share.

There are more options to get some free money on this final step on the “Road to 100 Billion” than on some of the previous steps, and PokerStars are offering:

Road to 100 billion: Million Dollar Hand

$2,000,000 will be given away in the actual milestone hand. The winner of the hand will pocket at least $100k, and everyone who just happens to be dealt in hand 100 Billion will earn at least $10,000 on top of that, they will also earn $2,000 per VPP earned in the past 50 hands.

The rest of the money will be shared across every other player sitting at the same type of table. So if the 100 Billion Milestone hand is dealt at a $1/$2 NLHE 6-Max table, and you’re seated at another $1/$2 NLHE 6-Max table, you’ll get a share of the money.

There will also be 300 regular milestone hands that are set to award a further $1,000,000 in prize money to cash game players.

World Record Tournament

This special tournament is planned to be bigger than the 200,000 player tournament that PokerStars held back in December 2011 that holds the current record for the biggest online poker tournament of all time.

With the entries for this event capped at 225,000 players, and with a $1 entry free, and a $300,000 prize pool, it’s been designed with an overlay, so it’s going to have value for a lot of players. 1st place is guaranteed $25,000.

It’s taking place at 13:00ET (17:00 WET) on the 16th of June, and won’t have any late registration, so grab your seat soon to make sure you have a place.

Greatest Hand

Greatest Poker Hand

We’ve probably all discussed what we think is the best hand of poker we’ve ever seen, and the big wigs at PokerStars have obviously done the same. They’ve shortlisted 22 hands, and put them all up on the PokerStars YouTube page and asked us to vote on our favourite. The top three videos will go to an expert panel, and they will decide which is the winning hand. Thing is, that’s not all. Once the hand has been selected, if you play it at any real money Zoom game between the 24th and 30th of June, and win post flop, you have a chance to win up to 100 Big Blinds at the stake you were playing (Max $100). All you need to do is upload the hand you won to the BOOM! Player, and the cash will be added to you account within 48 hours.

I’ve actually picked the hand I enjoyed the most, it’s the look on Phil Hellmuth’s face that does it for me…

It really seems that PokerStars are pulling out all the stops to celebrate this milestone, and the players are the ones who are going to benefit. you can keep up to date with when the Milestone hands are happening by going to FTR’s dedicated Road to 100 Billion page.

It’s almost like Poker Christmas…
