Sunday was a big day for FTOPS XII.  Three tournaments (8,9,10) ran simultaneously throughout the day, the biggest of which was the $1,500,000 guaranteed Event #10.   The tournament failed to reach its guarantee, an alarming trend so far in FTOPS XII.  Yesterday only 4,145 players signed up for the $300+$22 buy-in event, which created $256,500 in overlay.  While this is certainly great for those playing in the event, it is a cause for concern for these events in the future.

Nearly 50 FullTilt Sponsored Professionals played in the event including some big names.  Allen Cunningham, former WSOP Player of the Year, made the money finishing in 476th place.  David “the Dragon” Pham, WPT Winner, was unable to cash, busting in 1667th. FTOPS Event #7 winner Gavin Smith was eliminated very early, going out in 3596th place.  Overall it was a tough day for FullTilt’s Professionals as none made a run inside the top-100.

The most well-known player coming into the final table ending up winning the event. “Doc Sands”, who now has nearly $500,000 in cashes on FullTilt alone, was able to outlast a table of relative unknowns to win his first FTOPS Event and $259,440.  This is his 3rd major win on FullTilt and his highest score.  He has won the Sunday $750k and just last month he won the Sunday Mulligan.
