If you’re looking for a way to escape the coming cold of the late fall months, you should take a shot at the satellites DoylesRoom is offering for the Punta Cana Poker Classic.

The Punta Cana Poker Classic is a new no-limit hold’em event held in Punta Cana of the Dominican Republic just before the beginning of winter. The buy-in for the tournament is $1100, and it’s to be held at the five star Moon Palace Hotel from November 10 until November 14. This event also has a $100,000 guaranteed prize fund.

DoylesRoom is offering satellite tournaments with buy-ins as low as $2.20 for packages to the Punta Cana Poker Classic. The packages are worth $3100, and include the $1000 + $100 buy-in, $1000 for travel expenses, four nights at the Moon Palace Hotel where the event is to be held, 24-hour room service, and an all-inclusive premium food and beverage service.

The main satellites are held each Sunday at 4 pm EST, and have a buy-in of $150 + $12. These no-limit hold’em satellites also have feeder satellites with buy-ins of $10 + $1 and $20 + $2. The $20 + $2 satellites have their own $2 + $0.20 satellites.

The Punta Cana Poker Classic will feature 45-minute levels and 15,000 in starting chips with blind starting at 25/50. The levels proceed from 25/50 to 50/100, 75/150, 100/200, 100/200 w/25 ante, 150/300 w/25 ante, 200/400 with 50/ante, and on upward by similar increments to 80k/160k with a 20k ante. This is a great structure that allows for a ton of post-flop play.

If the buy-ins don’t make the guarantee, then only the final table (the last 9 players left) will be “in the money”, with 35% going to first place. If there are 100 to 120 players in the event, the top 12 will get paid, and if there are 121 to 150 players in the event, the top 16 will get paid. Finally, if there are more than 150 players, the top 18 will get paid, and first place will receive 33% of the prize pool.

Punta Cana is on the eastern end of the Dominican Republic, and is famous for its beautiful beaches facing both the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. It has plenty of golf courses and other tourist spots, as well as an active nightlife with many Vegas-style shows and other attractions. With an average temperature high of 84 degrees Fahrenheit or 29 degrees Celsius, it’s an excellent chance for a warm change of surroundings before winter comes around.
