MiniFTOPS is up and running! Coming off the heels of a record breaking FTOPS XIX, the 10% version of the popular poker series has already completed more than a handful of events. Players from all over the world are competing for big prizes in events with buy-ins as little as $11! The schedule runs for two full weeks and will culminate in the MiniFTOPS Main Event.

Each tournament is hosted by a different FullTilt professional. In event 6’s case, the honor went to Christian Kruel. Kruel is a Brazilian poker professional who ranks 1st on the all time Brazil Money list. He has more than $1,000,000 in career earnings and got his feet wet in gambling during live backgammon tournaments. His first big score came in an 8th place finish in the $7,800 PCA Main Event where he took home more than $90,000. He has since tacked on a 3rd place finish at the Conrad Poker Tour final for $135,000. Kruel was unable to put his live tournament experience to use in Event 6 where he bowed out in the middle of the pack in 292th place.

Event #6 was quite an interesting format. The tournament was a 6-max shoot out with a turbo blind structure. This means the blinds escalate much faster than in a normal event. The shoot out format pits 6 players at a single table at once. Those six then play down to a single remaining player. The same happens at every other table until each single table tournament is done. The players will then redraw and start up another match. This happens until the final table of just 6 players is reached. These events have become increasingly popular due to exposure on ESPN last year. Over 5,100 players entered to $30+$3 buy-in Shoot Out which created a nice $155,580 prize pool with more than $24,000 slated for the champion.

Unfortunately a lot of the excitement was over as soon as the final table began. Instead of playing the tournament out the remaining 6 players were happy just to make it to the final table and all decided upon a chop based on chip counts. The title and biggest prize ended up with the final table chipleader, “evilroy”. This was by far and away the biggest score of his career on FullTilt and just the second four-figure score on his FTP resume. Runner-Up “KalMax1024” had seen slightly more success on FullTilt in the past having won a Turbo $20k Guaranteed last December but the $10,558 he took home last night was also his biggest score on FullTilt. Congratulations goes to evilroy and all 648 players who made the money in MiniFTOPS XIX Event #6!
