WSOP APAC

WSOP APAC

The first final table in the history of the WSOP APAC Main Event is set, and it has some names we know and love set to return tomorrow.

The 15 players that started today have been whittled down to just 8, with all of them eyeing up the Bracelet, and the A$1,038,825 cheque that is going to go with it.

The biggest name at the final table (and not just by the number of letters) is Daniel Negreanu, who is returning tomorrow in second place, with 2,931,000 chips to use to complete his journey to the 1st WSOP APAC Main Event Title.

The chip leader heading into the final table will be Benny Spindler, who shot to fame taking 2nd in the 2011 EPT Grand Final High Roller in Madrid, and then won EPT London in September of the same year. Spindler has 2,931,000 chips to aid him in achieving his goal of his 1st WSOP bracelet.

These two aren’t the only people to make it this far, and the final table seating plan looks like this:

Seat 1: Daniel Marton – 2,160,000
Seat 2: George Tsatsis – 2,321,000
Seat 3: Mikel Habb – 551,000
Seat 4: Benny Spindler – 2,931,000
Seat 5: Winfred Yu – 367,000
Seat 6: Russell Thomas – 490,000
Seat 7: Kahle Burns – 905,000
Seat 8: Daniel Negreanu – 2,437,000

One person who won’t be making it is Antonio Esfandiari, who bust in 9th place as the final table bubble boy. He went out giving Spindler the chip lead in a coin flip, when he got his AsKh in against Spindler’s Queens, and when no help came, Antonio hit the rail with only A$65,408 to sooth his pain.

Negreanu saluted his fallen friend in his Twitter update at the end of the day:
