FTOPS XXI Day 11 – Event #22, Event #23, Event #24

Day 11 of the Full Tilt Online Poker Series (FTOPS) is in the books, with a number of spectacular finishes and big payouts to show for it. There were three events on the schedule for the day, the second consecutive day with so many events, and quite a few unique and exciting formats were explored.

Event #22 – PL Omaha Hi, Rebuy

With the rebuy format, Event #22 seemed assured to have a large prize pool. Despite that, it just barely met its guarantees, but still had a solid amount of players show up for the challenge. Ultimately it was Josh ‘buttsauce33’ Weizer taking down the top prize for a handsome $37,725. Josh has over $3.6 million in tournament cashes, and is a veteran in the online tournament scene. Runner-up BetTheePot has a made a number of cashes in the FTOPS this year.

Event #23 – 10-Game , 6-Max, Multi-Entry Tournament

Event #23 featured an exciting format, 10-Game, which was sure to stretch the ability of the players involved. The high buy-in combined with the difficulty of the format made this one of the more skill intensive tournaments in the series. The results showed it, as it took 10 hours of gameplay before a winner was crowned. Dylan ‘InvisibleEnigma’ Linde took down the final six, adding $43,426 to his already impressive lifetime earnings of $2.89 million online. The runner up, Luke Schwartz, is a another online pro with nearly $1.5 million in online winnings in just the last few years, combined with a substantial amount of live success in the WSOP among other events.

Event #24 – NL Hold’em, Rush, Super Turbo

If you were looking to make some big money fast, Event #24 was made for you. This Rush Poker Super Turbo had 811 entrants, but was over in only 92 minutes! Players started with a miniscule 300 chips, and had to act fast to beat both their opponents and the clock. Making it to the end as relative unknowns, the top three players chose to split the prize pool and went home with at least $25,000 each. The Rush Poker format has always been incredibly popular, and this event was no exception, nearly tripling its guarantee.
