FTOPS XXI Day 11 – Event #25 and #26

Despite there being only 2 events today there was still plenty of excitement and entertainment! Yet again, both tournaments smashed their guarantees; $30,000 becoming $70,500 and $100,000 becoming $271,500.

Event #25 was an Omaha Hi Pot Limit Heads Up Shootout, with a buy-in of $322 and a guarantee of $30,000. A total of 235 entrants created some big prizes, with the eventual winner -1SickDisease- winning $17,272.50! A total of 32 players were paid, with everyone in the money getting back at least double their buy-in; not bad for a days work.

A rebuy tournament with a buy-in of $322 is always going to lead to a massive prize pool, and FTOPS Event #26 did not disappoint! Nearly trebling the $100,000 guarantee with 294 players, 369 rebuys and 242 addons, the massive min prize of $1,629 for finishing 36th or better attracted a lot of big names.

Despite the difference between the top prize of $65,160 and the second place payout of $42,082.50 being over $23,000, no deal was made. Congratulations to swish3113 for taking home the full first place money, and commiserations (but congratulations at the same time) to Mutha Flushaa for his second place score.

5 groengras $15,747.00

6 neoforastero $10,588.50

Both the events offered something special in their own way. Event #25 was a massive tournament for any Omaha Heads Up player – and with 4 hole cards for each player, a massive tournament for anyone who loves action! Meanwhile, Event #26 was a treat for fans of thinking, deep stack poker. As an example, there was an average of 50 big blinds per player heads up when the tournament finally ended after nearly 10 hours of playing!

Good luck to everyone playing Event #27 ($109 No Limit Hold’em) or Event #28 ($322 Razz) today.
