FTOPS XXI Final Day – Events #34 and Main Event
After two weeks of fierce competition, the Full Tilt Online Poker Series finished with two massive events yesterday to cap off an amazing tournament series.
Event #35, a $256 6max Superstack Multi-entry with knockout bounties of $40 each had a guarantee of $600,000 and easily surpassed that with a massive 4,280 runners leading to a $856,000 prize pool and a $142,609.60 top prize. The amazing structure led to plenty of action, and the tournament ran for over 12 hours before ronnyr37617 was crowned champion. No deal was done so he took home the full first prize!

The Main Event is the jewel in any series’ crown, and the FTOPS XII Main Event was no exception. The 9-max, super stack, multi-entry (max 3) structure – similar to the WSOP Main Event – was a simple deep-stack competition with no bells or whistles. Pure poker, some may say. The $1,500,000 guarantee wasn’t just smashed; it was obliterated. 4,766 players contributed $640 to a $2,859,600 prize pool.
With well-known poker pro Sorel Mizzi (Imper1um) only managing 6th, the pressure on the two players heads up – Yann Dion (yadio1111) and CSWAMI – was too much and they ended up doing an even deal taking home $413,229.40 each and leaving $40,000 and the FTOPS XII Main Event title for the winner. A final hand of A7 v A4 gave the victory to yadio, along with his second FTOPS victory!
