Poker takes-over as the Full Tilt Montreal Festival kicks-off

 

Expected to be the biggest poker festival ever to be held in Canada, The Full Tilt Montreal Festival is a 13-day extravaganza, which began on the 21September. Record-breaking crowds, huge guaranteed prize pools, Full Tilt Poker professionals that include Gus Hanson and a headlining Main Event with guaranteed CAN$1,000,000 are just some of what this unique event has on offer.

 

The inaugural festival kicked-off in record breaking fashion as the CAN$135+CAN$15 No Limit Hold’em tournament attracted 1,605 players across three start days. The turnout more than doubled the CAN$100,000 guaranteed prize pool while breaking attendance records for the Playground Poker Club.

 

As always, Team Full Tilt and PokerStars sent a star-studded line-up of pros to challenge for top honours which included Gus Hanson, Dermot Blain, Martins Adeniya, Danielle Anderson, Leo Martins, Carlos Mavac, Larissa Metran, Andres Nemeth and Hana Soljan. On the Pokerstars side of the felt; Jonathan Duhamel, Vanessa Rousso, Chris Moneymaker, Victor Ramdin and David Williams are all attending.

 

Canadian celebrities and personalities are also trying their hands in the festival which included; Jean-Michel Anctil and Jean-Thomas Jobin (Comedians), Jean-Nicolas Verreault (actor), Marc Dupre and Emily Begin (siner/songwriter) and ex-professional hockey players Mathew Branaby and Georges Laraque, who have signed-up to take part in the Main Event.

The Main Event is a CAN$1,000,000 guaranteed, re-entry tournament which features three start days, giving players who are knocked-out early the chance of another crack at the title. Side events are on offer for those who fancy their chances outside the Main Event which will range from CAN$50 +CAN$10 to CAN$200 + CAN$20

 

Players who want to win their way to the Main Event satellites are still on offer at Playground Poker Club or alternatively players can buy directly into the event for CAN$1,000 +CAN$100.
