Event six of FTOPS VII took place on Saturday February 9th and featured 6-max PL Omaha with a $250,000 guaranteed prize pool. The first five FTOPS VII events all managed to surpass their guarantees, and event six was no exception: with a buy-in of $500+$35, an impressive $387,000 was up for grabs. 744 people competed for the $83,205 first prize, with 84 people cashing when it was all said and done.
17 Full Tilt Pros played in event six, including Allen Cunningham, Chip Jett, and PearlJammed. David Benyamine was the only one who cashed, however, finishing in 18th place for $2825,10. Benyamine is a native of Paris (France) and an ex-top-ranked French tennis player. He routinely represents Full Tilt in a variety of contests and is known for winning the 2003 Grand Prix de Paris and the 2005 WPT Battle of Champions. He is engaged to Erica Schoenberg, another Full Tilt Poker pro.
Out of the top ranked 16 PocketFives players who played, m8kingmoves was the only one who cashed, finishing in 51st for $1,199.70. Better known as lilholdem954 on PokerStars, m8kingmoves is currently the top-ranked player on PocketFives. This 27-year old is well known for countless gigantic online scores, including a $212,894 win in the $500 buy-in $1 Million Guarantee on Full Tilt back in July 2007.
Gaffel5 ended up taking first place, winning the $83,205.00 grand prize, beating Grumpy696 heads-up. Buttsauce33, better known as bbbbb33 on PocketFives and past winner of a PokerStars Sunday Million, took third place for $39,203.10. The other notable at the final table was kwob20, winner of two PokerStars WCOOP tournaments in 2006; he placed sixth for $13,545.00. GetPWN3D, better known to the online poker world as BeL0WaB0Ve, was the final table bubble-boy of this event, finishing in 7th place.
