The biggest buy-in FTOPS tourney took place over the past two days on Full Tilt.  Event #22 was a $5200, $2,000,000 Guaranteed 6-max event hosted by Full Tilt Pro and WSOP ME Final Table participant Craig Marquis.  An event with such a large buy-in was sure to only attract the biggest names in online and live poker, and this tournament certainly did not disappoint.  Full Tilt brought a strong contingent of their own pros, including recent bracelet winner Erick Lindgren, high-stakes Pro Gus Hansen, Limit phenom Matt “HossTBF” Hawrilenko, WSOP Runner- UP Paul Wasicka, and online Pro Taylor “Green Plastic” Caby.   There were also many online MTT Pros playing including top-ranked players such as “AJKHoosier1”, “amak316”, “Annette_15”, and FTR’s very own, “busto_soon”.

The deep-stacked tournament led to a lot of post-flop play not normally seen in online MTTs.  Coming into the final table players still had, on average, 75BBs to play with.  At 5000/10000 blinds, the starting stacks at the Final Table were:

Seat 1: KaKeTKa (832,144)
Seat 2: PureCash25 (565,184)
Seat 3: Buster Love (183,867)
Seat 4: dpowell (344,096)
Seat 5: amak316 (746,125)
Seat 6: NEONPILS99 (328,584)

“Buster Love” is supposedly the one and only Mark Seif, a live pro who has fallen under fire recently for his affiliation with Absolute Poker during their SuperUser scandals.  Previously mentioned Amit “amak316” Makhija is a top-rated internet pro who has made a WPT Final Table.  All six players would be battling it out for first place, the notorious FTOPS Jersey Avatar, and $550,000 in first-place money.  First to go was “dpowell” when his pocket fives were no match for Seif’s pocket sixes:

Seat 1: KaKeTKa (411,878)
Seat 2: PureCash25 (520,418)
Seat 3: Buster Love (351,902)
Seat 4: dpowell (242,096)

Dpowell would have to settle for 6th place and $90,000. He would soon be followed by “NEONPILS99”, who, with only 22BBs, would try a resteal with QTo only to be looked up by “PureCash25” and his A9o. Once the turn fell, NEONPILS99 was drawing dead and would have to settle for fifth place and $137,500:

Seat 1: KaKeTKa (533,445)

Next we would finally see some post-flop play, albeit just one street. Seif would call a Pre-Flop raise from “KaKeTKa” and then check-raise all-in with a pair of sixes and open-ended straight draw. Unfortunately for him, his opponent flopped a set of sevens and he would be unable to hit, busting him in fourth for $195,000:

Down to three-handed, the play really started to pick up with a lot of three-betting and some real post flop play. An extremely interesting hand happened when PureCash25 seemingly misclicked on the button to 300,000 chips instead of 30,000. Amak316 seemed very wary of the play, taking forever before he shoved with QQ. PureCash25’s misclick was certainly fake when he was forced to call with AKo, unfortunately for him he would not win the race and would become the short stack:

It was only a matter of time until Purecash25 had to get his remaining chips all-in, this time holding QQ. However, he would take a nasty beat against amak316’s AJs:

The beat would leave PureCash25 out in 3rd, earning him $262,500 for his two-days of hard work.

Amak would assume a large chip lead and eventually bust KaKeTKa and take home the FTOPS crown and $550,000. KaKeTKa would settle for 2nd and a huge cash of $362,500:
