A big weekend at Full Tilt as the kickoff of the FTOPS series provided plenty of great tournament actions. Many pro’s put up great performances including Chris Moorman in one of the FTOPS Events, but let’s begin with an overview of the regular weekend tournaments.

Friday Night Fight

$535 buy-in
82 runners
$32,800 prize pool

As always the action kicked off with the Friday Night Fight and well known pro’s were dominating the action in the relatively small field tournament. No deal were made as TJ Ulmer, a well established high stakes pro took first place for a nice $10,496 payday.
Runner up “BgsaPnaples” was probably disappointed after loosing the HU battle to TJ, but he would come back the next day with a vengeance.

“BgsaPnaples” decided to come back with his vengeance early and placed fifth for another $5,174, making that a second major final table appearance in two days!

The eventual champion was another high stakes pro Matias Gabrenja, who took down $14,700 for his efforts and apparently six-max is his favorite structure, since he would go on to make an FTOPS final table appearance the next day!

The grinders did not stand a chance in the Double Deuce as the final table was completely overrun by recreational players and lower stake regs. The lonely high stakes pro “Soepgroente” could not fully take advantage of the soft final table and finished in fifth place. $304,400 prize pool

And now let get to the FTOPS events. Four events were held over the weekend and the prize pools soared!

The first event was the newly added NL Irish Poker and a lot of players turned out to try their luck. A few pros made the final table, including Griffin “Flush_Entity“ Benger, who appeared multiple times on final tables of the 1K Monday and The Sunday Brawl, but he couldn’t reach the end of the rainbow and ended up finishing in 9th place.

Seems like the addition of Irish Poker to Full Tilt Poker has not gone unnoticed in Ireland as a recreational player “Gambling9to5” took down 7th place for a nice $8,827 payday.

Deals were not very popular this weekend and the first FTOPS event was not an exception as high stakes pro “Hitthehole” took down the whole thing for a $60,880 first place prize.

Event #2 kicked off a few hours later and this time players were battling it out with good old NL Holdem.
Two notable pros made it to the final table, but both fell short finishing in 9th and 8th places. When the tournament got down to 4, the remaining players made a deal which ensured $100K+ paydays for three of them and an $80K payday for one of them. Event #3 kicked off on Monday with only 399 runners and again, the pros were not the dominant force of the final table. However, navigating the field was Chris Moorman, a very well know British pro who successfully closed out the final table for the $21,250 first place prize.

FTOPS Event #4 (NL Holdem)

$1060 buy-in
784 runners
$784,000 prize pool

There was no 1K Monday this week as it was replaced by FTOPS event #4 with the same buy-in. Almost 10 times the usual amount of players entered the 1K tournament creating an impressive prize pool.

The final table was evenly split between recreational players and pros, one of who was Matias Gabrenja, winner of the Saturday Six-Max 2 days ago! He wasn’t so lucky this time though as he had to settle for 6th place.

A deal was made when the play got down to 3 with all players involved receiving $100K+, but eventually “Keinebeine” took down first place with “C Darwin2” being the runner up. Amazingly, between them these two players have only 200 tournaments played at Full Tilt Poker!
