UltimateBet recently announced its newest addition to the Stars Players Team – “Hollywood” Dave Stann. Stann is recognized for is renown blackjack skills and has been featured on several poker shows, including hosting the second season of the Best Damn Poker Show. Annie Duke, Stann’s personal poker mentor, was quoted, “We’re thrilled to have the Bad Boy of Blackjack on our Star Players Team.”
A long-time member of MENSA and graduate of Kent State University, Stann originally pursued a career in film and television. During that time, Stann learned to count cards and began make a name for himself in the world of blackjack. He also joined an elite list of international card counters.
Enlisting the help of UltimateBet’s Annie Duke, Stann decided to test the waters of poker. By 2007 he was recognized as one of the top ten players in the less than $1K buy-in category by a major online poker strategy site. So far, his accomplishments include almost $250,000 in 2007 tournament winnings, a 2008 WSOP cash-in, strong finish at a Ceaser’s Palace circuit event, and third place finishes at the Bicycle Casino.
