Following suit with other poker sites, players can now play a speedy version of poker on the iPoker Network. iPoker calls their version “Speed Hold’em Poker”, which is essentially identical to the old Rush Poker of Full Tilt and the recently released Zoom Poker from PokerStars.

At this time iPoker is only offering shorthanded (6max) No Limit Holdem games at lower stakes: 5NL-100NL. It is currently in beta testing, which means there could be some small bugs. It is likely that this format will become popular on this network, as it has on other sites, and more games and stakes will be offered.

For those unfamiliar with the new speedy poker trend, this variation of poker starts with a pool of players who all wish to play a certain stakes, for instance, 10NL 6max. Every hand begins with a full table of players drawn at random from this player pool. As soon as a player folds (or checks the fold preselect box), they will rejoin the player pool. They will then be reseated immediately or with only a very short delay at their next table of randomly positioned opponents.

The result is some intensely face-paced action! Typically Speed Poker tables will allow players to play 3-4 times as many hands as a conventional table. Currently players may join the same player pool up to ten times, which is more than enough to ensure as much action as you can handle!
