As we reported a few days ago, Issac Haxton, who plays on PokerStars as PhilIvey2694, defeated Isildur1 in the first Superstar Showdown. They recently discussed their heads-up battle with PokerStars reporters and the two had very different opinions about each other and the match itself. In an interview conducted with a PokerStars reporter, Isildur1 did not seem to think very highly of Haxton and his No Limit Hold’Em play.  Said the newest member of Team PokerStars, “I want to play this guy again, because I didn’t feel he was so good. I don’t think he deserved to win.” He also mentioned he thought Haxton was “too passive” and “a weak player.”

Haxton, on the other hand, seemed to praise Isildur1’s play. When asked about playing against the unknown Isildur1, Haxton was quoted as saying, “No one has ever more consistently made me miserable when playing against them.”  This coming from a man who has played some of the best poker players in the world, such as Phil Ivey, Tom Dwan, Patrik Antonius and Phil Galfond. When asked about the match itself, Haxton mentioned he was on the defensive a lot more than he is used to, but says that he planned to be. He also believes he did well exploiting Isildur1’s weaknesses.

It is still unknown as to when, or who, Isildur1 will play for the next Superstar Showdown, but if it were up to him, it would be Haxton again. “He ran too good and I want re-match in a game for 5,000 hands,” Isildur1 said. “I would beat him easily. I am certain.”
