Today sees the return of The Isildur1 Watch. We’ve had a little time off, and while I’ve been off enjoying the British Summer, Viktor Blom has been working pretty hard. Since the last Isildur1 Watch on the 18th of July, he has played 23,125 hands at 231 tables. Over the same period, he has lost $412,942, but is still able to boast a winning year so far.

Before we took our hiatus, Viktor Blom had been exhibiting a clear improvement in the mental aspect of his poker game. Whether he had been getting mental game coaching, or something had just clicked has yet to be determined, but he had become much better at this aspect of his game in the previous three months leading up to our break.

Viktor started off his working day playing Kyel “cottonseed1” Hendon at a $2k/$4k FLO8 heads up table. These two have a long and storied history, and it seems set to continue long into the future. This session between the two lasted 117 hands, and earned Viktor $124,974. This wasn’t the only session these two played yesterday. In fact, Viktor’s day was bookended with sessions against Hendon, with the second and last session costing Viktor $98,976 over 237 hands, leaving Viktor a $25,998 profit over this long time opponent. We caught some of the action from these sessions, and have the highlights in the video below:

The other real action of the day was against “SanIker.” The German played Blom at the $500/$1000 $30k Cap NLHE tables, and they saw 202 hands against each other. These two have a growing rivalry, and yesterday’s action isn’t going to pour oil on troubled waters. It may have only ended with a $53,496 loss for Blom, but he’s never been one to take a loss lying down. We have some of the action from this matchup in the video package below, but we were only able to grab a small number of hands.

With a couple of hands at a Nosebleed FLO8 to round out the day, Viktor ended with a $11,499 loss. His yearly profit line is currently standing at $3,294,456 and keeps him as the second biggest winner of the year, just behind Kyle “cottonseed1” Hendon.

The action from Tuesday the 13th of August saw Viktor start off well, and he accumulated over $200k profit before the tide turned.

It was only the last matchup with Hendon that saw Blom dip into a loss for the day, and it was overall really quite a standard day at the tables.

Viktor didn’t display any of his crazier attributes, and was pretty solid even though he didn’t turn a profit. It was just another day in the office for the Swedish Master.

With the return of Isildur1 Watch, we’ll have to see if it has any impact on Viktor’s play, as I’m sure we all remember what happened when this series started. We’ll just have to see what happens.
