Monday seemed to be a day off for Viktor. He may have taken the chance to jump on a plane back to his home in London, and get away from the ridiculous prices for pretty much everything in Monte Carlo. His trip to the Principality of Monaco was not the most profitable of his career. He didn’t cash any of the tournaments he played at the PokerStars EPT Grand Final, and he lost around €400k in the mega cash game that ran over the 11th and 12th of May. He did manage to win nearly $1.5 Million online on the 12th, but he could have done that from home, and not shelled out for all the expenses that come along with a trip to Monaco.

Viktor started off his day back at the tables by playing at the 2-7TD $1.5k/$3k 6-Max tables, with opponents including fellow Full Tilt Professional, Gus Hansen. Viktor’s return after his day off may have slowed him down a step, or maybe is he did fly home on Monday, his ears still hadn’t popped again, as his results weren’t that pretty. Over 302 hands, Viktor lost $156,068 with a fair portion of that going to Gus Hansen.

We caught some of the action, and have a video for you to enjoy:

The rest of Viktor’s day was spent at the FLO8 tables, and included a heads up matchup against Isildur1 Watch regular, “SallyWoo.” Away from the table, Sally is a bit of an unknown quantity, and not much is known about who is behind the busty avatar. One of the few things known about them is they seem to enjoy Yoga, going to the gym, and is friends with Kyle “KPR16” Ray. That and they are one of the best limit poker players in the world. Today Viktor continued his dominance over the unknown player, and was able to wipe out his 2-7TD losses by winning $168,954 over 204 hands. We have some of the heads up action below:

The rest of the day was sent at FLO8 6-Max tables, with most of the action also involving Gus Hansen. Hansen was having one of his best days in recent times, and made a serious profit (keep your eyes peeled for an FTR report on that later today). Viktor however was not having such a good day. The graph of his FLO8 6-Max action looks like a graph of a stock market crash, as he lost $640,327 over 1633 hands, again with a fair amount going into Hansen’s pocket. We have some of the highlights from the action for you in the next video.

Viktor ended the day with a $627,351 loss, taking his yearly profit total down to $3,654,678, which still gives him the top spot in the yearly rankings.

Viktor did seem to spiral yesterday, and the graph of his losses at the 6-Max tables was on a downward tend all day. In my view, the numbers don’t support his continual play. He may have considered he had an edge over the players at the table, and maybe on his “A” game he does, but on the day, he didn’t seem have that edge.

This is the first time in a while we’ve seen Viktor spiral out of control, and I’m hopeful it won’t be repeated today or in the near future. We will need to wait to see if this is a travel related malaise, or a return of the dark side of his intensity.
