This week seems to have me with a much varied playlist of music. Yesterday was the theme from the Magic Roundabout, the day before was “The Boys are Back in Town” by Thin Lizzy. Today’s little musical gem is brought to us by the Swedish Degen Society, and recent results from the high stakes tables on Full Tilt Poker. It’s “Love Rollercoaster” by the Red Hot Chilli Peppers, and at the end of the article I think you might see why.

Yesterday was a quieter day for Isildur, with only 413 hands over 2 distinct sessions the computer.

The first started at the FLO8 heads up tables against “Sally Woo”. These two have been playing a lot against each other in the last few months, with the recent traffic of chips mainly going in Viktor’s direction. That flow seems to have stopped in the past few days, as “SallyWoo” has been the one winning the big money, and added to his tally by taking $138,012 from Blom’s account before they finished the game. We caught some of the action, and have it in the video below:

In an unusual move, Viktor then headed to the PLO tables. That’s not the unusual bit, we always have the nosebleed PLO tables covered as Viktor is a regular player there. This time however, Viktor headed to the $25/$50 tables, certainly not the levels we expect from this high stakes legend. Regardless of where he was playing, Viktor wasn’t winning, and the 178 hands he played at these tables cost him $20,809. compared to his usual numbers, this doesn’t sound like a lot, but if you state it as big blinds, that’s 416bb or 4 and a bit buy ins. In 178 hands. While it’s possible variance took a hand, given the skill gap most likely in place in these games, I have to think Viktor was certainly not playing his “A” game.

We have some of the hands from these tables, but I warn those of a delicate disposition, they may be described as the poker equivalent of a car crash.

Viktor then took a break, and was next seen at a $1.5k/$3k 2-7TD 6-Max table about 4 and half hours later. If Viktor had any hopes that his losing streak was going to change, it was quickly crushed, and over the next hour and a bit, he lost another $141,667.

Blom’s last action of the day was against Kyle “KPR16” Ray back at the FLO8 heads up nosebleed tables, and he was not having any better luck there either. $100,000 disappeared from Viktor’s stack in 33 hands. We have some of the “highlights,” but again if you are an Isildur fan with a delicate constitution, you have been warned.

That’s where Viktor Blom finished his day, and not a moment too soon. $400,488 was removed from his online account, and went to a myriad of players. this takes his yearly profits to $3,117,446. Still not a bad result for the year, but not what he was hoping for.

As a relatively well informed observer, I’m starting to become a little concerned with Viktor’s mental health. He’s obviously on tilt, and seems to be happy to play in games where he is a massive dog, but he’s only a dog because he is not playing anywhere near his “A” Game. I’ve said it before, His “A” game is one of the best around, and he can hold his head up with pride when he plays at his best. However, when he’s playing like this, I know of several medium stakes players who would eat him alive at TDL, PLO or NLHE.

I just hope Viktor realises this, and is able to either up his game, or step away to clear his head. I’m looking at some of the results for tomorrow’s article, and I’m certainly going to have something to write about.

In the meantime, if you want to join Viktor on Full Tilt, and want to learn some new games, Full Tilt are offering new tables to learn on and we have more details on that over here.
