Yesterday was another hard day at work for Viktor Blom, with over three thousand hands of high stakes action, and in honour of his work ethic, today’s musical accompaniment is brought to you Nashville’s finest; Dolly Parton. Again, the lyrics are relevant:

“Working nine to five what a way to make a living
Barely getting by it’s all taking and no giving
They just use your mind and they never give you credit
It’s enough to drive you crazy if you let it”

Viktor’s day started off at a combination of Fixed Limit Hold’Em and 2-7TD, both obviously at the highest levels available on Full Tilt Poker.

The FLHE tables didn’t work out that well, as Viktor started off his day at his variant with a combined $96,256 loss, and the 2-7TD table saw a $20,764 loss. It wasn’t looking good for Viktor Blom.

He moved on from his losses, and started a battle that continued for the rest of the day against relative unknown “jama-dharma.” They were sat at FLHE tables, and saw 563 hands against each other over the day. It seems that Viktor’s day wasn’t getting any better, as jama ground out a $111,028 profit over the Swedish master. We have some of the highlights in the video below:

Viktor  then sat against Isildur1 Watch regular (and current top of the heap in profit for the year) Alexander “PostflopAction” Kostritsyn, at 2-7TD. They played two sessions, with both going the way of our protagonist. The first was a $167,228 profit, and the second was for $17,950. Combined with the rest of the 2-7TD play for the day Viktor turned a $43,624, after a $216,028 loss to Patrik “FinddaGrind” Antonius.

We have brought you a highlights package for the 2-7TD action Viktor got involved in:

Viktor had a battle starting next against another regular in Kyle “KPR16” Ray, who played Blom over a combination of FLO8 and FLHE. With these two again clashing at the highest stakes available, the 240 hands they players ended up at an almost stalemate with Blom taking a small $20,232 profit.

The only other fight of the day was with another Isildur Watch regular, Ben “Bttech86” Tollerene. The two had a monster 1275 hand battle over the $200/$400 $16k Cap PLO tables. The action went mainly in Blom’s direction, and he ended up with a $177,252 profit against this PLO nemesis. We have a highlights package from the battle between these two PLO experts:

Viktor Continued to play on into today, but his result for the day (based on EST) was a $91,509 profit, giving his yearly profit line the barest of nudges to $2,849,561.

Viktor has to consider these results to be a grinding day that is essentially a draw, neither a win or a loss. As Viktor kept playing after the change of date, we can’t really draw any conclusions based on the end of his session as we have been recently. What we can look at are the games he chose to play, and how his winnings flowed through the day. From what I can see, the day hovered around the break even mark, with the profit line fluctuating between a $160k loss and a $290k profit. It looks like this day was destined to be a break even day for our hero. Whatever the gods of poker had in mind, it was a hard slog for Viktor, for not much profit, the kind of day that will “…drive you crazy if you let it”

I’ll cover the action we caught after the date change in tomorrow’s article, and we also expect to see Viktor back at the tables today as well.
