It is starting to seem that Viktor Blom is not going to Las Vegas this year. I’m as surprised as anyone, I was sure Viktor would have left his comfy London home, and headed over to the US to partake in the worlds biggest poker festival. He’s even missed the $111,111 One Drop Event, which although has a lot of top flight pro involved, also has more than it’s fair share of rich business men who are in effect donating to both the One Drop Charity and the professionals also in the event. I wonder what the bosses at Bovada are thinking about their biggest star not heading to Las Vegas?

Viktor’s Wednesday began as his Tuesday did, at the nosebleed 2-7TD tables against “Kagome Kagome”. For the second day running, Kagome was the one to make the most of the action, and was the one to jump out to a big profit, taking $102,109 from the 634 hands played. We have some of the action below:

Next up, after a three hour break, was action against “SanIker” at the $500/$1000 $30k cap Heads up NLHE tables. The action was split into a pair of two table sessions, the first of which was 159 hands long, and cost Viktor a $22,926 loss. He took an eighty minute break before he came back to play another session against the enigmatic German. The second of these two sessions saw 244 hands of action earn Viktor a $186,964 profit, and turn his day from a losing one, into showing a running profit. We have some of the action from these two sessions in the video below:

Viktor took twenty minutes to himself, before he was back at the tables, this time playing $200/$400 $16k Cap PLO against fellow Scandi “no_Ola.” The action only lasted 68 hands, and ended up costing Blom $35,970 before the session came to a close.

As immediately after this PLO session, Viktor Jumped back to the $500/$1000 $30k Cap heads up NLHE tables to play high stakes regular we know very little about, “Trueteller.” It was another short session, this one only lasting 18 hands, but it managed to wipe out the debt caused by the PLO session against “no_Ola” as Viktor picked up $38,537 from “Trueteller.”

With his daily profit sitting at $64,496, Viktor sat down for his last action of the day. It was against Ben “Sauce1234” Sulsky and was at a combination of the $500/$1000 $40k Cap and the $300/$600 uncapped PLO tables. We didn’t catch any major hands from this action, but we do know that over the hour long session that the two played 295 hands, and it ended up costing Viktor $293,777.

This last action closed out Viktor’s day, leaving him with a $229,281 loss. This caused his yearly profit line to dip down to $2,977,074.

It was another day of a single session dictating the final result for Viktor Blom, against a player who he hasn’t crossed paths with for a decent amount of time. Before the session against Sulsky, Viktor had played his way through an essentially break even day, and it was only the final session that can really be considered an issue. The first p[art, at the $500/$1000 tables was actually going in Viktor’s favour, and he was showing a $24,994 profit from the 23 hands at these tables. Then, for what ever reason, and I’m guessing it wasn’t Viktor’s suggestion, they switched to the $300/$600 non cap tables. Viktor hasn’t really been playing non cap PLO recently, while I suspect Sulsky has, in comparison, been playing a decent amount. If this was an idea put forward by Sulsky, it may be an idea for Viktor to re-evaluate the games he plays at other player’s request. rarely will players offer to sit down against a top flight professional at a table they don’t think they have a significant edge at. It seems that Sulsky, correctly, thought that in this case, and made a decent profit from it. Viktor has made some big strides in his meta game, including his mental game, but he game selection may still need a little work.
