Not for the 1st time, I have to wonder if Viktor Blom reads my articles. On Tuesday, I finished off my article by suggesting that he should look at working on his game selection, and knowing when to quit a session when he wasn’t playing his “A” game. Yesterday, Viktor had a losing day, but rather than playing through it as he had been recently, he quit after only 383 hands and just over an hour. While this may lead to a shorter “Watch” than I might like to write, it could indicate a change in Viktor’s game. Or he could just have got an early night. We will have to see.

Viktor’s day started out on the top of “Mount Doom,” a $500/$1000 $30k Cap heads up NLHE table, facing “SanIker” across at virtual felt. Across two tables, Viktor played against this now familiar opponent for about an hour and 338 hands. While at points during the confrontation, Viktor was about $100k to the good, the battle ended with “SanIker” walking away with $209,502 of Viktor’s bankroll. We have some of the hands for you in the video below:

Blom’s only other action for the day was at a $500/$1000 $40k Cap PLO table, with the action being against Phil “Polarizing” Ivey. The fight only lasted 45 hands, and even with an $80,000 pot going Viktor’s way, he still left with a $90,998 loss. It really wasn’t Blom’s day. We caught all of the action from this matchup, and we have the highlights, including the $80k pot below:

Viktor ended the day with his e-wallet $300,500 lighter, leaving his yearly profits standing at $3,401,398.

While this wasn’t not a great day for Viktor’s win/loss numbers, it does show some promising things. Viktor has been trying to play through bad days, and against the opposition he seeks out, this is not conducive to winning large sums of money. By stopping his day early, Mr Blom may have removed any chances of winning back the money he lost, but he also removed the much great opportunity to lose even more.

I think we may be seeing Viktor grow from the degenerate he has been considered since he appeared on the scene, into a more mature, thinking player. His game is still as sharp as it’s ever been, if not better, but if he can control his downward spirals, his chances for increasing his profits can only be improved.

If you want to join in the action at Bovada, it couldn’t be easier. With the news yesterday (broken first by FTR) about the return of the “Black Card,” and a “VIP Amnesty” as well as the chance to win a 6 month sponsorship deal, there has never been a better time to join Full Tilt. You can also take advantage of the exclusive FTR Welcome Bonus, all you need to do is download the software, and sign up. Good luck at the tables!
