We haven’t published an Isildur1 Watch recently, and this is basically due to Viktor Blom not putting serious volumes in, and not have any really significant results. The fact we haven’t been able to keep up with him and grab video might also be a contributing factor.

Maybe Viktor has been enjoying the improvement in weather in the UK, as it has stopped raining, and the sun has been visible for the past few days. there is little truth to the rumour that Sun Worshipping Cults have sprung up in parts of London, but they has certainly been an increase in the amount of bronzed flesh on view in the capitol. It’s almost like California. Ok, maybe with less beaches, but just as many weird people.

Since our last look at Viktor, back on the 4th of June, he has been working, just not that hard really. The 4th of June saw Viktor make a $317,256 profit from only 599 hands, and the 5th saw another profit when he played for 376 hands for another $390,897. This brings us up to yesterday where Viktor was again out to play, but didn’t put in a massive session. He started off by playing 2-7TD (at the one high stakes table I didn’t have open) and played out 107 hands against fellow Full Tilt Professional, Gus Hansen. Hansen has been on a bit of a rollercoaster recently, winning about $1.6million, and then losing it and more in the past month. Hansen is down $3,226,077 for the year, which even with his deep pockets has got to hurt. this 2-7TD session between these two ended up with Hansen on top, and he won $101,302 from our Swedish hero.

The only other table Viktor opened for the day was a 6-Max FLO8 table, and as always it was at the highest level available. Over 388 hands, Viktor again played against Hansen, but this time it was the younger Blom who came out on top. $605,824 was added to Viktor’s online bankroll. which has only deepened Gus’s financial woes. We caught some of the action, and have some of the big hands from this FLO8 battle, and have a nice little video for you below.

All this action gave Viktor a daily profit of $504,522 and has improved his yearly profit line to $3,638,301, and has put him back on the top of the yearly profit leader board, and we’re not even including his SCOOP win!

Even though we haven’t been keeping close tabs on Viktor over the past few days, these results are showing he is capable of stringing several winning days together, and not pile on the volume until he breaks himself. There have been times when this has been the case, where Blom seems to want to take advantage of his winning streak, and has ended up sitting in games where he doesn’t have an edge, either through tiredness, or by being on tilt.

Everything I’ve been seeing recently seems to point to Viktor Blom working on his mental game. The lack of “spiralling”, the ending of sessions at reasonable stopping points, the stringing together of smaller winning sessions. Maybe this is the end of the old “YOLO” Viktor Blom, and the emergence of a mature poker player? Only time will tell, but I know where my money is going…
