Viktor Blom is currently in Monte Carlo, but rather than enjoying the sun, the ridiculously over priced beverages, or the scantily clad gorgeous women, Viktor has been playing poker online. The man must be Stone Cold Crazy.

Viktor’s day started off at the NLHE tables against the secretive “SanIker.” The battle at the $500/$1000 $30k Cap tables was over in a mere 67 hands. Viktor earned a profit of $39,990 from the enigmatic poker player, and started his day off with a bang.

Viktor’s next action was against fellow legend, and owner of “Ivey Poker” Phil “Polarizing” Ivey, and they both sat at a FLO8 nosebleed 6-Max table. The 20 hand battle went in the Swede’s direction, and he earned $9,993 from Ivey. Not a massive win, but a decent enough profit from 5 minutes.

The big matchup for the day wasn’t the usual headbutting session against Ben “Bttech86” Tollerene, but was instead against another legend of online PLO action, Ben “Sauce 1234” Sulsky (I don’t know what it is about players called “Ben” and being great at PLO, maybe it’s just a sample size anomaly?).

The two played at $300/$600, and then $400/$800, both uncapped, across 7 “Mini-Sessions.”

Session one was at the lower level, and saw Viktor take a small $12,348 from the first 298 of this match up.

The second session saw Viktor lose three of the four tables in play, and over the 334 hands played Viktor dropped $266,684 to the young man from the US. Viktor took a break at this point, tried to play a little 2-7TD, but didn’t find any action, and got back into the action with Sulsky.

Session Three stepped the action up to $400/$800, and the two players continued the action over three tables. 481 hands later, the session ended with Viktor losing another $353,000 to Sulsky, with all three tables going away from Viktor.

The 415 hands of Session Four didn’t help fill in the hole that Viktor had found himself in, as he lost another $428,944, to find himself down nearly a Million Dollars for the day.

The fifth session saw Viktor fight back a little, winning $24,588 over 43 hands, two of the tables having $100k+ profits for one or other of the players.

The penultimate session saw a return to form for Viktor, as over the 534 hands he won $306,416 from the American, most of which came from a single table. This still left Viktor down nearly $650k for the day.

The last session was frankly a disaster for Blom. Over a small sample of 70 hands, he managed to lose $188,524. Viktor continued to play across the date change, and we’ll cover the rest of his action in tomorrow’s watch.

We do have video of the action between these two players, and you should be able to find it just below these words.

With this, Viktor left the 8th of May with a big $834,067 loss, leaving Viktor with a yearly profit of $3,821,492.

The action before He played Sulsky is pretty irrelevant given it’s small sample size, so we’ll pretty much ignore that and concentrate on the action between these two high stakes action junkies.

Viktor pulled the plug after the first two sessions at the $300/$600 PLO tables, after losing $254,336, which was a fair decision. The decision to play Sauce at a higher level later in the day, may have been less of a good decision.

It looks like Viktor started to spiral last night, and burnt a lot of money. I asked Jared Tendler, the world’s foremost expert on the mental aspect of poker, for advice on Viktor’s behalf. Jared offered these suggestions:

“I would suggest he reads chapter 3 of TMGP(The Mental Game of Poker – Ed) as he might benefit immediately just from knowing more about the reality of Emotions. Then to read the opening sections to each type of tilt to figure out what flaws are blowing up. The key to a good solution is a good assessment of the problem. Aside from that, have him contact me for coaching”

Viktor did continue to play Sulsky, and we’ll bring you the action in tomorrow’s article.
