I am writing this article from an undisclosed location, surrounded by armed security guards. There has been a rumour circulated that Isildur may have hired hitmen to come and get me, because as I highlighted in the last Isildur Watch, he can’t help but lose money since I suggested these articles to my editors.

But on a more serious note, January the 15th will not be marked as a red letter day for Viktor Blom. He dropped another $605,548 playing on Full Tilt Poker.

To start the day, the Isildur1 avatar showed up on 4 tables of $250/$500 PLO, playing against the hot running Sauce1234, with a 5th added for 2 hands later.

Four of the tables went against Viktor, for a total of nearly $300k, but he did turn a $71k profit on the other.
The first massive hand we caught started with Viktor raising to $1700 on the button, with Sauce1234 re-raising to $5300, quickly followed by a Blom call.
The flop came 26J, and both players slowed down and checked. The turn of the 5 completed both flush draws and some baby straight draws, but we saw a check from Sauce here, followed by the aggression we’re used to from Viktor, and an $8k raise. Sauce called, and we went to the river, seeing a pretty inconsequential 9.

Sauce checked, and Viktor fired a pot sized bet of $26,800, leaving less than a pot sized bet behind. Sauce shoved over the top of the raise, and Blom called, only to see the $150k pot slide over to Sauce when his TQ4K was shown to give him a King high flush.

This table was closed out a hand later for a small pot, leaving Viktor $75k down.

The battle between Blom and Sauce finished about an hour later, when, after a rush of 4 running hands to Isildur, we caught this massive hand:

Viktor was again in position, and raised to $1700, only to see an aggressive Sauce1234 three bet to $5300. Blom called, and we went to the J24 flop.

Sauce bet out £7k into the $10,800 pot, and Blom re-popped him to $18.5k. Sauce called, and we went to the turn in this rapidly growing pot.

The turn of the 7 of spades didn’t complete any draws, and saw Sauce1234 check, and Viktor bomb with a pot sized bet of $47,800 to put Sauce All In. sauce called, and both players showed their hands. Blom had 3QJ5 for a pair of Jacks, and straight draw, and Sauce tabled KJ98 for a pair of jack, with a better kicker, and a better straight draw. Blom had to hit the river to scoop this pot.

The river came with Barry Greenstein’s favourite card, an Ace, this time of diamonds to give Blom a wheel straight and the $130K pot.

While Blom was battling Sauce1234, he was also sitting at Heads Up 2-7TD table against Alexonmoon with limits set at $1.5k/$3k.

The biggest hand we caught being shipped started with Viktor raising on the button, and Alex re-raising, with Blom calling in position.

Alex discarded 2 cards, and amazingly Viktor threw away 4! After this action, Alex obviously raised, only to see his opponent re-raise from the button. Alex, probably as confused as I am, called, and proceeded to draw 1 more card, only to see Blom stand pat. Alex checked to Blom, who continued his line and raised. Alex, called, and made his 3rd draw, only taking 1 card, while Isildur stood pat.

Alex checked to the pat hand, and re-raised over the predictable Blom bet when the action came back to him. Blom called, and mucked his cards when Alex showed an 8 high low, and scooped the pot of $33k.

The French Alexonmoon is a highly regarded draw player, and from what we caught, was a serious mismatch for Viktor, who seemed to be out of his depth at these high stakes 2-7 tables as he dropped nearly $109k!

Viktor seems immune to self doubt though, and after a 10 minute break, was back at the 2-7TD tables, this time against PostflopAction, a very highly regarded High Stakes regular.

While we were unable to capture any the interesting action, Isildur did post a small profit at 2 of the 4 tables these two played, but overall dropped more than another $80k.

About this time, Blom tweeted “the good luck has turned to bad. time for break” and then proceeded to leave the tables for an hour, only to come back at much lower levels.

Blom ended up playing 2-7TD at $50/$100 and $200/$400, but only stayed at these levels for 17 hands, before leaving for a longer break with a small profit of about $400.

Blom came back later in the day to play FLO8 at $2k/$4k, and we missed this action. We do know that it was a re-match against SallyWoo, and Blom dropped $74,052 during just over an hour and a half.

At the same time, we caught a clash between two of Full Tilt’s stable of “Professionals” when Gus Hanson and Isildur1 sat at a $1.5k/$3k 2-7TD table. This time, we did catch the action and over the 180 hands, we saw action going in both directions with Blom starting out brightly in this hand.

Blom raised from the button, with Gus calling behind. Gus drew 3, while Viktor only discarded 1. Gus checked, and Blom bet out, only to see Gus re-raise. Viktor 3 bet, and Gus capped the action. Viktor called, and saw Gus stand pat, while he drew 1 more card.

Gus bet out, and Viktor, obviously unafraid, re-raised, and Gus called. This 1st pot of the session was sitting at $30 with one more round of action to come. both players stood pat, and Gus check/called Viktor’s bet, only to see Viktor’s 8 high lo scoop the £36k pot.

Luck obviously wasn’t with Viktor as this battle progressed, and we caught this hand a little later.

Gus raised in position, and Blom flatted behind, and then discarded 3 cards, while Gus only drew 2.

Viktor lead out, only to see Gus raise his bet, and Blom called behind. This time, both players only drew 1 new card, leading to a betting war, with both players adding $9k to the pot, leaving it standing at $30k as they both declined to draw any more cards.

Isildur bet, and Gus called behind. Both players showed their hand, and Gus’s 87532 lo just beat Blom’s 87542 to scoop the $36k pot.

Pots continued to flow in both directions during the 2 hour confrontation, but left the Dane feeling satisfied with a nearly $120k profit. Unfortunately for Hanson, he had a torrid time playing FLO8 after this, dropping about $185k to SallyWoo when she had finished humiliating Blom.

This ended the day at the office for Viktor, and he ended up with $605,548 less than he started the day with, which still leaves him around $3m up for the year by my count.
