It’s not secret that the winner of each WSOP event is destined to earn a ton of money. Win the Main Event and you’re life is changed forever. You are set for life. Or so it seems…

Back in 2006, Jamie Gold outlasted a large field of poker players to win the Main Event for a whopping $6 million. Some may remember he was sued recently after his big win by a buddy who claimed to own half of his action. Jamie lost the lawsuit. Now he’s facing more legal issues.

According to a New Jersey casino, Gold owes them over $52,000 after one of his checks bounced. It has been said that the owners of the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City, NJ has won a default judgment against Gold for $52,279.47 back in 2010 according to papers from a Los Angeles court.

Even though the casino won their default judgment, they had to file their papers in California as that’s where Gold currently resides. So far, a judge has yet to make a ruling.

It will be interesting to see where this heads. More importantly, does this mean that Gold, a once very rich man, is now broke? Stay tuned for more stories once a ruling takes place.
