Joe Hachem

Joe Hachem will no longer be part of Team PokerStars

On Saturday it was announced that Joe Hachem would not be resigning with PokerStars as a Team Pro member. His contract expired recently and it was a mutual decision not to renew the contract.

The 45 year-old Australian father of four says he will remember his time with PokerStars fondly, but is also looking forward to more time to spend with his family and new career opportunities. Pokerstars’ Head of Corporate Communications Eric Hollreiser had this to say about Hachem: “Joe has been a terrific endorser for PokerStars over the years, and while we are sad to see him leave the team we are looking forward to continuing to watch him play.”

Joe Hachem broke onto the poker scene in style with his WSOP Main Event win for $7.5 million in 2005. He was signed by Pokerstars shortly thereafter. He continued his tournament poker success with earnings of $2.6 million 2006. He is currently 9th on the “Poker All Time Money List,” with a total of $11.3 million in live tournament cashes.

Joe Hachem currently owns and manages a mortgage company on top of being a professional poker player. He has yet to comment on whether his new career direction will be an expansion of his mortgage business, or something new altogether.
