Almost 15,000 entrants showed up to kick off the MiniFTOPS festivities. MiniFTOPS Event #1 was a rather vanilla No Limit Hold ‘Em superstack event, which meant players started with 5000 chips. The prize pool nearly reached the $300,000 mark and attracted a bevy of Full Tilt Red Pros. The event was hosted by poker great Phil Gordon.

Three pros managed to make it in the money. Two-time bracelet winner Scott Fischman finished in 219th. It is unknown if he screamed, “Sevennnn.” Esther Rossi, representing the females, came in 585th. She made a WSOP Final Table in 2008 so she is due soon. Coming in 59th an besting all the pros was Joesph Cheong. Cheong, who hails from South Korea, has bigger things on his mind – he is part of the 2010 November Nine (the 2010 Main Event Final Table).

When it was all said and done, loldazzlements dazzled the MiniFTOPS #1 final table taking home first place and over $30,000. He is known as Daniel Ospina off-line and has a solid MTT resume that boasts over $150,000 career cashes between Full Tilt Poker and PokerStars.

Runner-up Pimpnuho is an absolute tournament terror. He has over $900,000 in cashes between the big two sites. His $37,000 prize is greater than loldazzlements because of a deal made while playing 4-handed. This payday is the biggest of the Raleigh native’s career.

The MiniFTOPS continues today with a Rush Poker, Quintuple Shootout, and HORSE event on the schedule. September 18 is when the famous 2 Day Event begins. The series culminates with the $1,000,000 Main Event on September 19. Tournament enthusiasts can’t go wrong registering for a MiniFTOPS event this week!
