Poker and its supporters are working toward gaining legal status in the United States of America. However, even with some states legalizing poker, other states are slower to change their laws and will bust illegal poker games. In Michigan, gambling is not allowed unless it is for a charity or it is organized by its casinos. Michigan police cracked down on the Grand Rapids Poker Club game. The poker club was publicly advertising its game on Craigslist and in fliers. They lured players into their game by telling them it was legal.

However, the story does not stop there. In addition to the poker game, the dealers were topless women going above and beyond the call of duty. These topless dealers were performing aerobic exercises, playing Twister, and taking Jell-O shots for tips. One was even completely naked! Twenty gamblers were arrested including four topless dealers. They could receive a maximum of 90 days in prison.

This is an unfortunate story, especially in light of poker’s fight to gain legality in the United States. This story is sure to shine more negative light on the beautiful game.
