Microgaming, the largest provider of internet gaming software on the planet, has recently announced that its products will soon be available for users of Android mobile phones.

According to reports, those gamers owning “Android v2.2 Froyo devices running Adobe Flash 10.1” are first in line for the new offering. Among Microgaming’s considerable holdings, it appears as though Betway Casino will be the first division to open their servers to mobile users. Players will be able to chose from simple play-money games, or the more popular real-money options.

Betway’s Managing Director, Daniel Gross, spoke favorably of the new development.

“It’s a winning combination,” he says, “that has helped us grow our customer base and mobile casino business. A successful mobile casino business needs to support Android, and we are delighted to be able to meet this demand.”

“Android has more momentum than any other platform,” said Mike Hebden, a high-ranking exec with Microgaming, “and is largely driving the increased sales of smart phones. A number of pad style devices will also soon be running Android v2.2 .”

Several experts agree with Hebden, with some going so far as to predict that the Android OS will eventually overtake Windows Mobile, iPhone, and Blackberry operating systems in as little as three years. Several of the aforementioned pad-style devices running the Android software are currently in development, and are expected to enter the market sooner rather than later.

However things pan out in the mobile technology race, there is much for casino enthusiasts to be excited about. As competition between companies heats up, the quality of the consumer product can only increase.
