MiniFTOPS XXII

MiniFTOPS XXII

The MiniFTOPs XXII festival has started, and some of the $4,000,000 in guaranteed prize pools has already been won.

Event #1 was No Limit Irish poker, and was always going to be fun as few players have had time to become experts at this variant, as it’s only been recently added to the games spread at Bovada Poker.

For those of you not in the know, Irish is a variant of Hold’Em, were each player is dealt 4 cards pre-flop, but has to discard 2 of these after the flop has been dealt. This can lead to games where players can be very lose pre-flop, as they chase  draws before they have to discard some cards.

It came down to two players, One, “czlol” had recently won FTOPS Event #23 for just over $50k, and the other was “thegingerone45,” who’s biggest result to date had been $5,755 in a $22,500 KO Guarantee.

To reduce their chances of missing out on value, the two chopped the prize pool, heads up, and played it out.

Matthew “thegingerone45” Hunt Pitt was victorious, and took his lifetime ROI in NL Irish MTTs to 26,775%. I guess the only way is down from here.

It seems that Pitt had never played this variant before, as evidenced by his victory tweet:

The Final results looked like this:

  1. “thegingerone45” – $11,849.21
  2. “czlol” – $11,209.09
  3. “Buddha any1” – $6,757.68
  4. “BnkRolTrbl” – $5,022.60
  5. “kroete70” – $3,728.90
  6. “tedStretch” – $2,587.40
  7. “F3NN3K” – $1,750.30
  8. “G_Chenaud” – $1,217.60
  9. “Gennadiy As” – $837.10

You still have more than enough time to get into the action in this MiniFTOPS season, all you need is a Full Tilt Account. Satellites are available to help you play your way to the bigger buy ins, and the season culminates with the Main Event on the 5th of May.
