Just weeks after a highly success FTOPS XVIII came to an end FullTilt has given the little guy a chance. MiniFTOPS XVIII kicked off yesterday afternoon with a $20+$2 NL Hold’em Freeze-out hosted by FullTilt professional Andy Block. The $250,000 Guaranteed event had little problem filling its seats as more than 15,000 players were on hand vying for a $46,793 first-place prize. Amongst the masses were nearly 30 FullTilt professionals including Scott Fischman, Toto Leonidas, and Huck Seed.  Even with nearly 1,900 places getting paid, Lee Watkinson and  Alan Boston were the only two professionals who made the money.

With such a huge field and no professionals even cracking the top-1000 it led to a final table full of relatively unknown players. Still, with more than $46,000 going to first place it was going to be a battle to the finish. Two of the more experienced players at the final table worked their way down to heads-up play. Joe “PPARRISH” Parish and “mulls24” entertained the railbirds after deciding not to chop the remaining prize pool. It can be easy to go for the guaranteed money at a stage like this but give credit to both for risking it and going for the glory. The decision would ultimately pay off for just one player, mulls24. His victory earned him FTOPS glory not to mention a $46,793 payday. The five-figure score was easily the biggest of his career for the small-stakes grinder who has played nearly 1,000 events on FullTilt. Parish, who earned $31,422 for his runner-up finish, also easily bested his previous career high.

Congratulations goes to mulls24 and all 1,890 players who made the money in MiniFTOPS XVIII Event #1!!!
