After four seasons NBC has decided to move Poker After Dark away from the South Point Hotel and Casino.  Hosting the 2009 Season’s 60 episodes will be the Golden Nugget Hotel & Casino’s newest event center, “The Grand”.  Poker fans need not fret; host/model Leeann Tweeden will be moving with the show.  Past participants Phil Ivey, Daniel Negreanu, Doyle Brunson, and Phil Hellmuth are all set to return for the show’s fifth season when taping begins October 26th.

Brett Kellerman, COO of The Golden Nugget announces, ” [we are] thrilled to host the fifth season of NBC’s exciting, late-night poker program, Poker After Dark. The Golden Nugget has been home to several big poker productions, as well as hosted many poker tournaments and events, so bringing a top-rated program like Poker After Dark to the property just seemed like a natural fit.”

The Golden Nugget has hosted multiple season’s of FSN’s “Poker Superstars” Tournament and GSN’s “High Stakes Poker”.

Poker After Dark presents poker in a way no other show has.  Each week six of the world’s best players compete in a winner-take-all format.  The 2008 season has seen many changes to the show, including it’s first cash game format and a 4-man Heads-Up double elimination tournament.   The 2008 series is set to return this week after a programming break due to the Olympic Games.
