Daniel Negreanu has been making a number of big life moves in recent history. Just this month, Negreanu temporarily relocated to Canada. The popular poker professional luckily holds Canadian citizenship, making his relocation a breeze. American pro Daniel Cates was denied entry into Canada when he attempted the move after Black Friday. Negreanu has been seen online at PokerStars since his move.

Leon Daniels, spokesman for Canadian-poker.ca said, “With Full Tilt Poker swamped by controversy and heartfelt contempt, Negreanu’s return to Canada and PokerStars has boosted players’ confidence in the industry. With Negreanu back home, online poker players in Canada are feeling like we’re back on centre stage. Many big names are looking to come here to keep playing online poker, and with that kind of attention comes the potential for a lot of benefits for players in Canada.”

PokerStars in Canada is getting a big boost from Negreanu’s real time endorsement. While the American side of the industry suffers in uncertainty, Canadians can enjoy the industry all the same, excepting those affected by Full Tilt Poker’s shut down. Canadian pros are also seeing their endorsement stock rise. 888 Poker is sponsoring Tyler Bonkowski, while Party Poker is sponsoring Canadian pro Kara Scott, who recently played the role of commentator for ESPN’s coverage of the 2011 WSOP.

Though in Canada for the time being, Negreanu has confirmed another big move in his life. Negreanu recently split with long time girlfriend Amanda Leatherman, and is now connected to Krisztina Polgár. Though not a household name in America (yet), Polgár is known in Hungary and much of Europe after she won Miss Earth Hungary in 2008. Neagrenu said, “I met my new girlfriend at the World Series. She plays poker too. She just came up; she was just saying ‘Hi’ cause she knew some friends and stuff. So, we just started, you know, hitting it off, and she’s super cool. She lives in Budapest, Hungary. She’s there now, but I’m going to go visit in a bit.” Apparently Neagrenu is good at more than just poker.
