After last week’s out and out destruction of the US online poker scene, several highly anticipated televised events are finding themselves on the cutting room floor.

Foremost among these programs is the Onyx Cup, a series under the sponsorship of Full Tilt. Initially scheduled to begin shooting in Vegas this summer, each of the six scheduled tournaments has been put on indefinite hold. As Full Tilt withdraws its support for American customers, it is almost sure that these events will never take place. So far, there has been no comment from Full Tilt themselves.

But it’s not just Onyx. Nearly every network featuring poker-related content is now weighing the possibility of cutting their existing shows.

The biggest worry here, of course, is the WSOP. ESPN, as it turns out, does intent to air this year’s event, so fans can breathe a sigh of relief. But they have also pulled all of their current poker advertisements.

So far, there’s been no word as to the status of either NBC’s Poker After Dark or GSN’s High Stakes Poker. These are two of the most popular events shows on the dial, garnering heavy viewership among players across the nation.
